let say you won the lotto for 26 million and you wanted to give away some money because now you feel kind of guilty. And you see that eventhough you was spending money and wasting it you still got alot of money. I buy stuff that i don't even need or it goes out of style and they come with a new model. I am tired of it and then my greedy cousins want me to always sponsor them with some crazy idea. if you just really wanted to see someone really happy with some money what would you do?

i would think of something in my community that meant a lot to me and always made me happy growing up and sponsor something. do u like music or baseball. if u have the funds, why not finance refurbishing a baseball field for the little leagures or donate money/instruments to a music school that sponsors low/free classes. i would buy a home for myself, start a college grant program at my high school to ensure students who were like you get the funding they need for their education. theres a lot of good you can do with that money besides buying luxuries.

The best would be an endowment fund. Pick something you really believe in. Like a homeless shelter or something. Give them one million dollars. But set it up as an endowment that they can only use the interest off the one million. Let them keep the million but do not let them spend it. They may get carried away and go splurge on things not needed. A person can get a pretty good chunk of cash off a million dollar endowment fund each year with the interest a lone. This way each year for years to come they will have money coming in that they never had come in before. Why let them spend it all. Using the interest is a much better way. You can say for 20 years I will have the money in this endowment fund. Then you could switch to another charity, or keep up with your current endowment. If the charity ever closes, then they give the money back. It will always be your money, it is just that your letting someone benefit from the interest.

Go find some homeless people and hand them some cash. Or, give to animal shelters in your area. Or, if you wanted to, you could find a family that is really struggling along, and kind of give them a make-over, in a way. I would first take half of what you have, and put it in an investment of some sort - I would recommend checking into Vanguard Funds. That way, you will always have a "working fund" - the money that will be making you some more money, while you spend the money you have, which will run out. And if you never take the "working fund" and let it continue to earn an income, you will always be able to have money available perhaps to help others for much longer.
Good luck with that and be careful with it!

Find out if there is a community foundation where you live. If so, you may wish to set up a fund within the community foundation, which will also invest the money you donate into your fund, so you have even more to give away. The community foundation staff can also give you information about local organizations and projects with the most pressing needs. You can set up what is called a donor advised fund, from which contributions are made only upon your recommendation to nonprofit organizations that you select. Some community foundations also will manage distribution of scholarships for you, if that is your area of interest.

Do you want to pay to have the experience of seeing someone happy because of something you did for them OR are you interested in true charity for the sake of doing a good deed in this world?

If the latter, give the money anonymously to a poor family or a widow or beggars on the street and pray that G-d will cause it to be a blessing.

Then release it with love. (this sort of giving can be addictive!)

A good deed of this nature is called a mitzvah in the Bible. It is a counteraction to evil in the world.

Okay! Say 10% of the whole ammount, as a rule established by John D. Rockefeller. So, $2.6 millions.

Well, I really don't know and I would think about it quite a bit before doing anything, exactly as John D. Rockfeller did.

The question is as tricky as creating a business.

i think that the best way would be to get advice about what aid is needed in any of the many places where people are desperate for aid oversee the buying transport and distribution your self so that you know what your giving is actually benefiting the people who its intended for
not many people realise that only maybe £20 out of every £100 given to the big charities goes to the needy the rest is wasted on their administration wages and expenses

Adopt a child or two, you are taking children away from a social situation that has the potential to ruin them for life. You will have much more gratification knowing you are helping and raising kids that need the help.

if you didnt want to adopt then open a shelter for abused and battered kids, you can even get grants to help out from the government....hell even give money to local hospitals at the childrens burn, cancer, abuse centers. They will never know who helped them but in your mind you know you helped save lives.
