Now I know I'm going to get people calling me stupid that they are the same thing. They aren't. PC's goal is to create a society where race/religion/sex are not seen. In essence we ignore them because we can't say anything about them without stirring things up. Diversity is the acceptance of other for what they have to bring to the table. The acceptance that others are different and they can add value to the group for that reason. As you can probably tell I have a problem with PC. Great idea but it has been taken WAY to far. You now have to worry about what you as and how you say it. Under diversity as long as what we are saying isn't blatantly offensive it is accepted and added to the whole.

Korso - How can we have the free exchange of ideas when we have to be so careful about what we say?

Jacob W – But if we did add the morbidly obese person to our baseball team wouldn’t we learn that you don’t want to add morbidly obese people to baseball teams? By adding value we don’t necessarily have to a positive addition. You can learn from negatives.

I'm not going to call you stupid - I think it's a great question.

I think diversity is great. It gives you the opportunity to learn about people who would not necessarily move in your circles. PC is madness and here in England it's getting worse and worse. You DO need to be mindful of other people's feelings, it's courteous and kind, but I am sick to the back teeth of being told what I can and can't say or think!!!

Political correctness is evil, pure and simple. The antithesis of free speech and liberty.

Diversity is interesting but not very important. I take issue to your conclusion that people are different and for that reason add value. Mere difference is not value. If I have a pro baseball team and add a morbidly obese player that is way different, he does not bring any value and in fact is a drag on the rest of the team.

Ironically, it is Political Correctness that has brought us the concept that diversity is important. In and of itself, diversity could not be less important. Different is not necessarily better. Different is simply different. People from other countries have a different POV that may or may not be helpful.

The knee-jerk reaction that diversity is so valuable that we should embrace every difference and every cultural influence is simply self-destructive. The concept is far more dangerous that you might think. Political Correctness created that concept and has been forcing it upon us for about thirty years. The purpose is to dilute the value of traditional American values and permit any old values to achieve equal status. This has resulted in the dilution of American culture and, if left unchecked, will lead to the morphing of the once great United States of America into another segmented third world country.

Diversity is much better. Diversity teaches people to get along with people of different backgrounds. If you have diversity and it is encouraged, political correctness is not needed.

The only thing political correctness does is bring to light the differences between everyone. It does not address the fact that we are all humans. The idea of political correctness is outdated and the need for it vanished back in the late 20th Century.

Despite what PC types and school teachers mantra who say diversity is good I think both types are stupid.
When you live in a country or work in a corporation you adhere to their rules.
You can enjoy your 'diversity' on the weekends with friends and family, but in order for any country to work you have to be on the same page.
Diversity doesn't put you on the same page, you will be pushing your personal agenda like the Congress does when they attach riders to laws.
People need to be together in order to form a solid unit with like goals in order to acheive the best of the best.

If we accept the concept of unity in diversity, most issues are taken care of .Political correctness is an expediency and therefore keeps changing from place to place and time to time.At some point of time,a society decides and adopts and the process continues.

Diversity is cool... However, political correctness is the most dangerous, subversive, freedom-killing idea ever advanced by human beings.

It's interesting that you were able to notice the nuances of the difference between the two. Good job.

PC is just a way to shut you up so you don't offend anyone. Yet I'm offended by so many peoples comments that PC is the LAST thing I'll ever be.
