So many are getting in serious trouble here lately, doing all kinds of dasterdly things.

I am a firm believer in managing my own health care! I know what is wrong, if the doctor prescribes, I ask what, why, and side effects, what I can expect. Often, I tell him what to prescibe...after all, I have been around a long time and taken meds before. I know what works on most things that go wrong.
Funny question, and here in southern California, yes..all kinds of dastardly things are done to enrich the pockets of a few doctors..recruiting patients for unneeded surgeries while promising a tummy tuck thrown in, etc.

I've never really met a doctor who has poor skills. I've heard of a few in the news but they seem to represent a small minority don't they? I mean, if the news reported every success doctor's had there would have to be a 24 hour news channel dedicated to just reporting that.

If you see a few doctors screwing up in the news and your opinion then becomes that most doctors in general have poor skills, you are forming an opinion based on very little information. It's like seeing A-rod strike out twice in one game and then saying all baseball players must suck so why are they so rich.

When my son graduated from medical school, he had $225,000.00 in student loans for grad school. He was broke as a church mouse. He had to repay those loans or lose his license. He donated a year to help seeing impaired children in Costa Rica . He also must pay medical malpractice insurance, that too is mandatory. It isn't all doctors are bad, but the few who do screw up make the others look bad.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!!!!! A lot of the doctors (and lawyers) are just in it for the money....

I know there are poor doctors... and they are probably the best ones to go to because they CARE about their patients and aren't in it for the money....

A lot of the doctors do go overseas as missionaries... because they do care... but they forget... there are a lot of poor people here in the US without insurance and can't afford to go to those "rich" doctors.

Thanks for the question... good one!

Did you just say dasterdly???
That's my new favorite word!

I'm glad the bad docs are finally getting caught. About time. They've been getting away with it for far too long.

You and I (beleive it or not) are only a handful of people to realize that not ALL doctors (or lawyers) are 6 figure ballers.

Just remember: They are in a "practice" & are practicing in their field. My question is: When will they finally stop practing and start getting it right?
