What I really want to know, is, which one of you knocked on Prince's door and got him to start a bible study, also, now that he is one of you, does he play his guitar for the Theocratic Ministry School?

I heard that if you drop a bible on Mars God will appear and create a new civilization. The new civilization will be equipped for life on the planet, just like humans are equipped for life on Earth.

Do you think this would cause wars between the two planets?

Any thing you would like to say about this theory?

I just heard a couple of people here and there saying that they "swear on my life", or "swear on everything I love". If they break that swear is that like a sin, or does it mean eternal damnation or something? (From a christian point of view)

I think if they lived a good life they will go just as anyone else.
I could be wrong but think about it we are good through the fear of God and the Salvation of Jesus.

But if an Athiest is a good person they are doing it on their own and rae just a genuine good person so I don't see why they would'nt go to Heavan I think they do.

six years ago today a horrible tradegy occured and two planes flew into the world trade centers in New York City...you all know what i'm talking about. before then, not many non-muslims knew much about Islam or its people. after 9/11 not much changed except Islam's reputation. i'm a muslim and to me 9/11 was as much as a tradegy as the next guy. but why am i still targeted for my beliefs and blamed for something that a few people did wrong just because they were muslims (well i don't think they were really muslims cuz your not supposed to kill ppl). i don't have anything against christians, jews, hindus, etc. if someone who was buddist (srry if i spelt that wrong) were to kill someone i wouldn't start giving every buddist dirty looks and target them. i kno everyone doesn't do things lk this but for those who do, how do you justify your actions? i'm 13 and 9/11 made me a stronger person not because i'm happy abt it (which i'm NOT) but b/c i've learned to deal with others. so y dont u?

If you're good because you think God is watching you, or because of the promise of heaven or the threat of hell, then that is self-interest, not morality. If you would be good anyway, without those motivators, then you don't need God in order to be good.

Either way, morality has nothing to do with God. Agreed?

How come they went from supporting slavery to opposing it? According to the Bible (both "Old" and "New" testaments), there's nothing wrong with slavery... the Jews owned slaves, and so did the Christians in late Roman times and early America (Paul tells the slavemasters not to be cruel to slaves, but never says they may not HAVE slaves!) Now, either slavery is morally wrong, or it isn't. If it is morally o.k. as per the Bible, then the Civil War was fought for nothing. But if it is morally wrong (and it IS), then it was just as wrong back then as it is right now! There's no getting around it... Apparenty the God of the Bible made sure to include verses about the evils of eating pork, but couldn't be bothered to outlaw slavery...

I am sick and tired of my in laws. We used to live far away from them and they still got on my last nerve. But now they are 4 hours away and I have managed to avoid them for a while. However, I cant do this forever. I am always polite to them and bend over backwards to make them comfortable, But I refuse to go to thier house anymore because my hubby wants too stay too long and I feel like I am in prison when I am there. They constantly ask him when I am coming since I have not been 4 a while. So I told him to invite them here instead. I usually run myself ragged taking care of them, but not anymore. I really want to distance myself from them when they are here. How can I pull this off with out letting them pull me into thier meddlesome/gossiping with out being too rude? To give you an example of the kind of things they say. "I think it is disrespectful to my husband to have friends." This was said by my mother in law when I told her I was going to visit a freind .

You have every right to be here, just as atheists have every right to be here. That isn't what I mean.

I'm just asking why you would want to subject yourself to the beating that is dished out here every day.

I'm an atheist, and honestly I sometimes get worked up myself at things I disagree with Christians on.

However, I just find myself cringing at the absolute hatred dished out towards Christians by atheists here. Obviously there are a lot of hard feelings that have added up through the years.

For the most part I just try to stay out of the fray to that level. I just can't believe that so many Christians just keep coming back for more.

I have to tip my hat to you. I admire those of you taking it and coming back.

I'm learning english as a second language.
Sometimes english tense is very confusing.
Could you tell me the differences?

1) If I 'collect' all of my tears for a thousand years
2) If I 'collected' all of my tears for a thousand years
3) if I 'had collected' all of my tears for a thousand years
would it be enough to express all my heart?

Do 1),2),3) sentences all make sense?
Which is correct?

Thank you :))

The Bible plainly teaches that Jesus died on the cross to pay for the sins of the whole world. The whole world includes Osama Bin Laden. However, I do understand why the relatives of the people who died on 9-11-01 may not accept the fact that God can forgive the most vilest of men.

Your view?
