I agree 100%! If they wanna spend their only money on drugs or alchohol the they will always be that way. But if they just got unlucky then I feel sorry for them.

Your examples are of building up from nothing to something, but consider how it would be to have everything and lose it all over a steady period of time, the hopeless and the striving to make things work but everything fails and then out the end of it, when homeless, having no responsibilities and only having to meet the very basic of human needs, food, water, shelter after all the turmoil that has being in their lives= that would equal freedom. Your feels and view is value based and I think you 'hate' hobos because you don't understand them, your value basis is very different and you have worked very hard to get where you are and resent that you see, or perceive, that these people are doing nothing.

No. Hobo in many cases denotes a cultural made of the dustbowl, as sang approximately by ability of human beings like Woody Guthrie. They was hoping freights, squatted in camps suggested as hoovervilles, and have been a marginally militant group. They pass back to at leadt the young infants, actual, and are linked to Woobly activism. surely, some human beings have joked that "the little pink card" grew to become right into a key to the "jungle" or prepare backyard camp. those days, hobo subculture in celebrated by ability of a definite group of punk teenagers based around Gainesville, Florida who play human beings-inspired punk music. they are surprisingly much all anarchists, frequently submit-present day, intense of civilization, enamored with each and everything straightforward and organic and organic, and everyday for worshipping Guthrie and hopping trains. they don't seem to be the comparable element, yet actual embody the subculture that got here till now them, nonetheless they stay marginally by ability of decision and not necessity.

What good is it to hate them? Usually no address means no job. Perhaps your friend had other people already in your country who gave him a place to live--and moral support--until he got on his feet.
When you feel frustrated like this, try to look at each person as an individual with a unique story of how they found themselves where they are. This is not easy to do, but you will probably feel your resentment lessen, as well as a heightened awareness of the positive things in your own character and environment. That is helping yourself first!

It is also right to help people who CAN"T help them selves.
I worry when people make grand sweeping statements about things they see with out understanding the full picture.
Some times the homeless have multiple issues. A large number have serious mental health issues, are on the run from abuse or their own countries.
Idiot, people never! I repeat never choose to be on the streets. Drug or alcohol probs have nothing to do with it! Stop generalising and get off YOUR lazy butt and help out!!!!!
Come on! Not every one is born into privilege like you or I.
Get out there and see for yourself. Go and help out at a homeless shelter. It would open your narrowed view point abit!

Only word I can come up with is 'Lazy'. For the type of 'Hobo's' as you refer to disliking.
As to the blanket you wish to extend on the whole of the homeless population here I disagree. Many are hard working people down on their luck.
I recommend not giving blindly if it bothers you but choose where to direct your help so it has the most impact, as you see fit.

hobos come from all walks of life and for some reason or other have ended up in this state of no fixed abode. Who are we as the fortuante people in society to judge, openly critize and provide people with solutions when we dont even know the circumstances as to why they are there in the first place. humans will always fear what they dont understand so....judge not thee who wishes not to be judged.

you are sooooo wrong!!! I have been homeless, and some people come to this country and i wish they would go back!!! Some are mentally ill, and can't get help with their problems, and some, like u described, are alcoholics, and some are homeless by choice. It takes I.D, a place to live and a phone, to get a job. And homeless people don't have those things. U know what I hate?? Rich people!! They have it all, and most don't care. Some people, like myself, can't work around people, because we can't be around them because people drive us nuts! You need to wake up and get with the program and get informed!!!
