Why is the Spanish subjunctive used in this sentence?

The lines in question are from one of my favorite poems, "Mi Ultimo Adios" or "My Final Farewell" by Jose Rizal. They say he wrote it the night before he was executed by the Spanish.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mi_%C3%BAltimo_adi%C3%B3s

The line in question is near the end:

Y cuando ya mi tumba de todos olvidada
No tenga cruz ni piedra que marquen su lugar, <<<<<
Deja que la are el hombre, la esparza con la azada,
Y mis cenizas, antes que vuelvan a la nada,
El polvo de tu alfombra que vayan a formar.

Entonces nada importa me pongas en olvido. <<<<<
Tu atmósfera, tu espacio, tus valles cruzaré.
Vibrante y limpia nota seré para tu oído,
Aroma, luz, colores, rumor, canto, gemido,
Constante repitiendo la esencia de mi fe.

Why is the subjunctive used here?

Thanks!

“There is nothing holier in this life of ours than the first consciousness of love -- the first fluttering of its silken wings -- the first rising sound and breath of that wind which is so soon to sweep through the soul, to purify or to destroy.”

most people in this world are accepting of other beliefs, wether it be Christian, Jewish, Sikh, Hindu, Buddhist or whatever else. Surely it is much more important to take each person as you find them rather than be against people for their religion?

Are there any Biblical verses that tell us which doctrines (beliefs given to us by God) are essential and which aren't?

How does one explain these verses:
- 1 Tim 1:3 “I repeat the request I made of you when I was on my way to Macedonia, that you stay in Ephesus to instruct certain people not to teach false doctrines.”

- 1 Tim 4:1 “Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the last times some will turn away from the faith by paying attention to deceitful spirits and demonic instructions.”

- Ephesians 4:14 “so that we may no longer be infants, tossed by waves and swept along by every wind of teaching arising from human trickery, from their cunning in the interests of deceitful scheming.

We see in Ephesians that we can be as infants, tossed and swept by every wind of teaching.

-Titus 1:9 “holding fast to the true message as taught so that he will be able both to exhort with sound doctrine and to refute opponents.

....from my Daily Devotional this morning I Corinthians 1: 18-25.

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."

Isn't this scripture at the heart of all the Q&A on R&S?

"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."

And wouldn't you hate to be an unbeliever on Judgment Day?

"...the world through wisdom did not know God...."

Are we here today fulfilling Biblical prophecy....or do we have a real chance to save more lost souls with our testimony....or is making fun of ATHEISTS just good clean fun?!?

I asked my wife if she's ever watched porn, but she always changes the subject, and honestly i'm 27 years-old and I still don't know if any of them watch it and if they actually enjoy it. I've watched it with a few in my time but they always act as if it's new to them. Are they just great pretenders or what?

Last night someone asked "How can we abolish segrative faith based schools in the UK"

I was already aware that about 7000 schools fall into this category, 2-5 million Students at any one time(conservative estimate).

Many people though the abolishment of 7000 schools across the country would be a good idea.

So would you really have your childs education entirely your responsibility or have them in a faith based school that teaches a mandatory Secular curriculum?
