If you believe matter had a beginning. Explain how absolutely nothing created something. This also goes against the laws (facts) of science which states matter cannot be created nor destroyed.
If you believe matter is eternal. Explain how you arrived at the current time, since it would have taken an infinite amount of time to reach this exact moment? This is logically impossible so therefore something has to exist outside of time. So therefore outside of our universe must lie a timeless dimension.
So If you believe time was created from matter, explain how that happened?

If your reasonable you would have to conclude that God must be the matter that exists outside of the dimension of time.

Stunned and ashamed because he could not prove us wrong.
As a result, all your congregation leaves and become atheists.

How interesting would life be...

Please don't tell me that "all people are bi" because I personally disagree with that.

I am a Christian, and I don't believe in pshychics. But I do notice that SOME of them (not all, not most) but some of them do seem to be right with their predictions? They help the FBI with missing people, and they find them. Can I get a Christian perspective of why that is?

‘I believe that when I die I shall rot, and nothing of my ego will survive. I am not young and I love life. But I should scorn to shiver with terror at the thought of annihilation. Happiness is nonetheless true happiness because it must come to an end, nor do thought and love lose their value because they are not everlasting. Many a man has borne himself proudly on the scaffold; surely the same pride should teach us to think truly about man’s place in the world. Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cosy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigour, and the great spaces have a splendour of their own.’ - Bertrand Russell.

A girl in my town committed suicide two nights ago. This girl was beautiful, with 3 great children under the age of 10, and a seemingly happy life.

I just can't really comprehend what it must feel like to hate living so much that you'd rather be dead.

Isn't life EVERYTHING?

Is it simply freedom from anxiety, stress, etc, or is it more than that? Have you experienced "peace which passeth all understanding"? What does it feel like?

Does spiritual peace stay with you all the time (when you are living by divine law), or do you feel it only when you do certain things? (And what are those things?)

Have there been times when you have felt an amazing sense of peace as a form of comfort when you were distressed?

I'm interested in understanding the experiences of all religious people in regards to spiritual peace.

I'm trying to fathom the fundamental principles behind gaining (and keeping) this feeling. Is it possible to feel it constantly?

I wrote of poem about death feeding a guest for workshop, but I was told that it would be better if I found piece of literature that dealt with death and food to use as an epigraph. I was thinking also about the theme of the food and the underworld and specifically about Persephone, Hades, and the pomegranate seed, but I have personified death as a woman and the speaker as a man; I could just inverse the characters...but anyway. Or any written myth about a femenized death figure feeding a person.

A friend recently mentioned an article they had read, suggesting it to be tacky to use a gift card at a restaurant you select for an evening out amongst friends? The article suggested the card should be used to lower the overall tab prior to dividing the check. Anyone familiar with the piece or have thoughts on whether using it on one's own tab is ill-mannered?
