Jesus did not kiss Judas. Judas kissed Jesus.

Matthew 26:48-49 Now His betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him.” Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him.

Kissing was a common form of greeting. You see this in many places in the New Testament where Paul and Peter both gave instructions to "greet one another with a holy kiss."

Many cultures are like that still today - especially in the Middle East. The Greeks, Italians, Portuguese, Arabs... they ALL greet each other with kisses - often one on each cheek.

It was a cultural salute between two friends within jews and other Middle East countries. When two friends meet they salute with kisses in the cheeks. Jesus considered Judas his friend, even though when He knew Judas was betraying Him. However, Jesus confronted Judas by asking if with a kiss he are selling his master?

Judas told the guards that he will salute with a kiss Jesus to signal who among Jesus and the discipules, was the one to be arrested.

I have seen movies and news videos from Russia and France and this custom is still present in some european cultures. It is friendship, nothing sexual.

Judas betrayed Jesus, the kiss Judas gave to Jesus was a typical greeting in that culture, given as a sign so the mob would definitely know that Jesus was the one they came for.

(1) it was not a kiss as you are probably understanding it to be
(2) have you ever seen how Middle Eastern men greet each other
(3) Judas greeted Jesus the Christ, in a manner that was and still is customary to the Middle East culture. This greeting was also used to point out to the Roman soldiers who were to arrest Jesus - which man He was among the group that was in the Garden of Gethsemane at that time.

Judas kissed Jesus, not the other way around. It was to indicate to the Roman soldiers which person was, in fact, Jesus. They didn't exactly have photographs back then.

You're trying to pervert the story to your liking - naughty. I quote from Matthew 26:48,49; ... 'now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: “The one I kiss is the man; arrest him.” Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed him'.

Other way around, sarah.
Judas kissed Jesus, to point him out to the sanhedrin, so he, Jesus, could be arrested.
