The Temple that was constructed during the reign of Solomon was located in Jerusalem which is in modern Israel. At the time, it was one kingdom, the kingdom of Israel. Later, there were two kingdoms, Judah in the South and Israel in the North. During those years, the Temple was in Judah not Israel. Later, that Temple was destroyed and another was built on the site. The second Temple was destroyed about 40 years after Christ died and rose again.

Well of course it is - in today's Israel.

However it was not in Israel at the time it was destroyed, because Israel had broken away from Jerusalem-controlling Judah, and been destroyed.

We know from history that King Josiah of Judah went to repair the temple at a time when the Judaean kingdom was not in control of Israel, which had fallen to Babylon. Jerusalem was the only significant city in Judah, and no evidence of a temple has surfaced anywhere else. Plus, no reference to the temple in either biblical or extra-biblical sources places it anywhere other than on Mount Zion.

The temple certainly would not have been in Samaria, because Israel had been destroyed and depopulated in Josiah's time.

The Temple of Solomon according to the Bible would have to be in the Israel of the Bible as his Father was David the Giant slayer. As for modern day Palestine... er Israel, who knows.

It WAS, until the Sixth Century BCE. Then it was the Second Temple, later remodelled as Herod's Temple. But that was destroyed in 70 CE. Are you proposing the rebuilding of the Temple? Perhaps the "Ehud Olmert" Temple? I'd hold off on that.

Yes, the temple of God built by Solomon was in Jerusalem.

His father, King David, entertained a strong desire to build a house for God, to contain the ark of the covenant, which was "dwelling in the middle of tent cloths." God was pleased with David's proposal but told him that, because he had shed much blood in warfare, his son (Solomon) would be privileged to do the building. This was not to say that God did not approve David's wars fought in behalf of Gods name and His people. But the temple was to be built in peace by a man of peace.
