I was thinking this exact thing whilst watching a news story about a college kid who drove his car off a road and was stuck under the vehicle for a week or so before being found by a passerby.
His family told everyone who would listen that his survival was all due to the power of prayer, yadda yadda.
I couldn't help thinking, why the hell would god throw a fan of his, off the road in the first place?

Oops... There's another bug in the system.
Hmmm....? What should we believe now?

Edit: What a great river of dribble the god-believers has produced to answer this thought provoking question. I'm very disapointed that they could be so very shallow of thought.
Only one individual has suggested that the god described is less than satisfactory... only one has the wisdom to hope for better by withdrawing from the weaknesses of the traditional, (and silly,) beliefs of the past.

Well, if He dealt with them before they arose, there would be no problems, would there? The purpose of problems in this world is for us humans to deal with, learn from and grow as spiritual beings. That can't happen if God solves all our problems for us.

Nothing is a Problem to God;He has all the answers,He has a number of People to gather,
No one knows that number;When it is complete,
He will close door on the Ark;(Church")
During the seven yrs of Hell on Earth it will be still be Faith,but You will Die to prove it;

I've wondered the same thing about myself. I try to believe that the one"smiting" me isn't God. Jesus said that God is our Father. I just find it hard to believe that a father could do cruel things to his children...if he's a good father. And the God (Father) I want is the one who is good and loving and kind and merciful. I hope He's out there somewhere and that I'm one of His children.

If He did that, there would be no point in having free will.
We might as well be robots.

If he has dealt with a problem before it happened, how would you know about it? Maybe he does!
