Am I right if I assume that Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus for 30 silvers and these so-called funny robed betrayers do the same thing for several millions? I write these out of acute frustration after observing yesterday a devotional public kissing-spree right on the stage on a young televangelist in front of a huge assembly of believers - who claimed that Jesus had appointed him and his father as prophets in January, 2007 - by a group of luxuriously clad Bishops representing different churches of Kerala, India who themselves are at loggerheads with one another. Is there any escape from the fence eating the yields?

Despite how it seems, my mental state has improved since leaving Christianity, and taking up atheism. I am HAPPIER, now, then I was before. And yet, everywhere I go, I am criticized. Why can't people just let me be? All I've ever asked of the world is happiness. Why can't people just allow me that?

Come on now,Christians.
You mean to tell me your bible is without error???
Don't you know astronomy.
The earth rotates around the sun, not vice versa.
Why then, oh why, does your perfect bible say Joshua stopped the sun?
Stay tuned for atheism beats Christianity again chapter 10

The soul never dies only the physical vehicle wears out and stops. However, there are always more physical vehicles being conceived that the soul can migrate to just before the physical vehicle is given is given its independence from a woman's womb.

In our marching band, we have two people in the mellophone section, me and one other guy. I'm the section leader, but I'm a sophomore and the other guy's a junior. This junior is a bit pushy and tends to comment on other people in other sections. Lately, this is starting to get annoying and unconstructive.
Me being a section leader, I technically have authority over him, but since he's a junior, he has been in the band program longer and knows more than I do. I've tried telling him he needs to back off from commenting, but he says he's doing it for "the good of the whole band." Several other people have told me he's getting really annoying. What should I do so I can get my point across, but not be really rude?

I am a single mom and have had a few things to 'mention' to him as he lives above me. But he is simpely an amazing landlord (and I have had bad ones). I want him to know that despite my complaints recently, I think he is an excellent landlord. He just bought this place 3 months ago and moved upstairs. I have had a few complaints for him but nothing that i consider huge (I would rather say if something is bugging me than getting angry about it and being passive agressively upset.. so if something bugs me, I just say it to the appropriate person). I want a gesture that will not come across like flirting as we are both single (which I would NOT be flirting anyway with my landlord). And I don't want to wait for Christmas. Any ideas?

I know people will shout at me for my ignorance, but plese try to use tiny little words so I can understand.

I thought it was just a refusal to believe in God, but apparently I was really off the mark. There seems to be much more to it than that. Do Atheists shun religion altogether? Is there a moral or ethical code? Or are all Atheists "self-styled"?

No links please.

And this is genuine curiousity here. I am honestly confused on this topic and would like not to offend any Atheists on Y!A or anywhere else.

How to cope with wavering thoughts?
Versatile are flying clouds,
Yet from the sky they’re not apart.
Mighty are the ocean’s waves,
Yet they are not separate from the sea.
Heavy and thick are banks of fog,
Yet from the air they’re not apart.
Frantic runs the mind in voidness,
Yet from the Void it never separates.

Looking back on my past and how I was before I met Christ makes me think of how I got through it not having a strong relationship with him. Having been through foster care and adoption, my past was hard and it brought me to many bridges and obstacles that I didn’t know if I could overcome. I felt alone, and as if something was missing.
When I was placed into my second foster home, I met someone who truly touched my life. I gained happiness and security from her, and soon began to feel wanted again. She became to be one of the biggest influences on my life in becoming stronger with my faith.
Although I did know Christ through people around me that knew him, I didn’t have a strong relationship with him. It never really clicked that he was the thing that was missing, until later on, when everything started to crumble around me, and I began to feel so alone, I realized that Christ was the thing I needed all along. I started to understand my past better and began wondering why it all happened the way it did.
By becoming stronger with Christ I slowly began to figure out it all happened for a reason, I wasn’t sure of what this reason was, but I knew that the Lord Jesus Christ did.
I began coming to Lawrence Wesleyan Church in 2000. There was something about this place, It felt good walking in the church, knowing that it was the house of God. I loved the atmosphere of everyone here. For the longest time I was shy to sing, Finally, I asked myself the question, What am I afraid of? Everyone around me was singing, raising there hands up to Christ, and I was just standing there, as If I was out in space. One day, a song came on that I knew well, and I started to sing. The feeling inside of me was powerful, and before the song was over, I found myself in tears. I left church with a smile on my face that day, I’ll never forget that feeling, it was wonderful.
In the past two years, I have noticed, I’ve became imensly closer to christ. My attitude has changed, I spread the word of Christ to anyone that will listen. I think twice before taking actions. When I get upset or angry, I find myself praying to God to help me, to give me the courage and strenghth to get through.
Looking back on all of this makes me smile. Yes, some of the bridges and obstacles that have been placed in front of me have been hard, and I know there will be more in the fute, but I also know that God will never put an obstacle in front of me that I can’t overcome. He has been with me this whole time and He will always be with me in the future.

If population expands infinitely, obviously we will get to a point where there is room for nothing but people, eventually. Is His Holiness depending on God's intervention? If you are a Catholic, do you feel it is sinful to oppose bulldozing forests to build houses?
