I would be curious to know what religion you have decided to join, after you gave some thought, of course. Don't you do the same process of thinking when you have to choose between two excellent restaurants?

I am sure you'll choose the one that offers the most benefit for the least sacrifice. For example, my understanding is that in Islam you will have to pray five times, fast during the days of Ramadam, go to Mecca at least once in your lifetime. In Christianity, you'd have to attend church once a week, pray, be baptized, I don't know what else, but have you considered these things in making your choice?

In either religion, whether you want to know the truth about the existence or non existence of God, that' s really a marginal questions, almost irrelevant anyway. That is simply a matter of Faith. How else can you KNOW if the supernatural exists? And at this point, who actually cares?
What counts is if you are going to be welcome, which I am sure you will be. So, what's you choice in the end. Which one do you LIKE more?

Every question you have asked is based on speculation and media frenzy.islam is the true religion(i converted one week ago) sent to man.No ALLAH is one true omniponet God and christians have one God who is three people(father,son...} so that means it is not the same God.you van never be a walking target, because once you become a moslem you become a brother to every moslem and moslems only love other moslems and hate those who commit crimes against islam.you will be accepted and your conversion will be the source of great pride for moslems{check this out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73EfykhtXsE) and islam is more correct as there is no misatke in the holy quran, all the facts are realistic and islam is not a religion,it is a way of life.the bible was written by men(paul,john....)the quran was revealed from Allah by angel gabriel onto prophet Mohammad(pbuh)2.please read this article and then make your decision,http://www.articlesbase.com/science-articles/ask-the-birds-and-they-will-tell-you-in-bible-versus-quran-202726.html

First, before I answer your questions, let me note that I am a former Muslim who is considering converting to Catholicism, and I compare Christianity and Islam in the following entry on my blog:

http://blog.360.yahoo.com/abukhamr?p=33

You can also see the thoughts of William Lane Craig on Christianity and Islam in the following videos (which influenced some of the arguments in the blog entry above):

http://youtube.com/abukhamr

Now, to answer your questions, first, assuming either Christianity or Islam are true, I personally would lean towards Christianity. The benefits of Christianity over Islam is that its conception of God is better (God loves all, vis a vis God loves only good Muslims), and its conception of Jesus is more accurate. Muslims would try to argue the converse, and on these issues (God and Jesus) they would attack the doctrine of the Trinity and the doctrine of the Divinity of Jesus. It has been my experience that, on the surface, Muslim objections to the Trinity and the Divinity of Jesus are good, but on closer inspection I have found most Muslims (and perhaps even the author(s) of the Qur'an) don't really understand either of these doctrines.

Now, you ask if Allah and the God of Christianity are true. You might see other people claim "Allah is not God". I would note that Arabic Christians called God "Allah" (and they called God "Allah" even before the rise of Islam). That being said, the Islamic conception of God is different from the Christian conception of God (i.e. the way Muslims conceive of Allah is very different from the way Arab Christians conceive of Allah).

If you, as a "white" male, convert to Islam, NO, Muslims will not hate you. There are millions of "white" Muslims (e.g. in Bosnia, Turkey, Northern Syria, Chechnya, Khazakhstan, Russia, Albania, and many other places). As for Western converts to Islam who are "white," they are often celebrated (e.g. Gary Miller or Yusuf Estes). So the only people who would give you problems for being a "white" Muslim would be non-Muslims.

Finally, as for historical accuracy, I think Christianity is more historically accurate. Look at it this way: on the issue of Jesus, we have the New Testament and the Qur'an as sources of information. Jesus was a first century Jew, and the New Testament is a collection of works written by first century Jews (some of whom knew people who met Jesus, and others who themselves might have met Jesus), while the Qur'an is a seventh century, non-Jewish, Arabic text. Obviously, any objective look would have to conclude that the New Testament is the more reliable source. That is why, by the way, critical NT scholarship (performed by non-Christians!) treats the gospels as central texts, but ignores the Qur'an.

By the way, while I lean towards Christianity, I will list sites presenting both sides.

The best Christian site on criticizing Islam (and defending Christianity against Muslim attacks) is:

http://www.answering-islam.org

The best Muslim site on criticizing Christianity (and defending Islam against Christian attacks) is:

Hope all this helps!

That question is impossible to answer without a person being biased to either religion. What I can answer is you won't be a "walking target" if you convert to Islam. I have been to many mosque's where there where white males (among every other race you can thing of). Good luck!

In order to know which religion is true, let's go to their scriptures and find out which one is authentic, the Quran or the Bible....Point No.1:Quran doesnt contain a single verse which goes against the established scientific facts while Bible is full of several mathematical errors apart from other errors, and even Dr. William Campbel(sorry if spelling is wrong),a renowned christian missionary, has admitted these errors during his debate with Dr. Zakir Naik.Dr. zakir also proved all the errors pointed by dr. campbel in the Quran to be wrong and proved scientifically Quran to be right, making dr. campbel speechless in that debate which was held in usa a few years back. This shows that bible is not in that form which was revealed unto the Jesus.Had it been in the pure form,it wudnt have caontained errors bcoz God cant make errors.Changes were made in it by different people. Also today we see several versions of the bible.Bible doznt even exist in the language(Hebrew) in which it was revealed...While Quran is preserved in its pure form in its original language, free from errors and has got no versions...this shows that Quran was brought to this world as the last testament, which will be free from errors, and for the people till judgement day.
The most important thing...today christians r following paul, not Jesus...According to muslims belief,Jesus was a messenger of God and a muslim...and its even mentioned in the bible.Jesus says in the bible "I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me"(John 5:30-32)....anyone who submits his will to Almighty God,and says not my will but God's will, is a muslim(The definition of a Muslim: A person who submits his will to Almighty God).the above mentioned verse is a proof from the bible that jesus was a muslim...now if the "todays christians" want to follow Christ, they'l automatically be Muslims but if they will follow Paul and other people then surely they shud not cal themselves as christians...Todays Chrisatians should say we r following Paulinity, not christianity, because one who will follow Christ will automatically be a Muslim....(Sorry if i have hurt anyones feelings).

Im a muslim. Im elling you to use your logic. Read Quran and Bible and observe which is logic and 100% right.
Muslims will be happy to welcome a new convert.

Islam is based on logic that lead to faith. We dont have hierarchy in Islam like in christianity and judaism. Islam is integrated religion that will leed to integrated life if you apply it properly.

I think you have read all of the offence of christians against Islam. Does those seem to you logic. Do you believe any religion may teach hatred? If you are open minded, you will know that those people have limited knowledge based from the media.

only you can make that decision. and I don't know much about Islam. all I can give you is the few over-stated facts that muslims can't accept or might not admit

1. Elohim and Allah are not the same. Elohim, Jehovah, the God of Christianity, is Tri-une. Allah is not. By Biblical account (which includes the Torah), Allah is considered a fraud, as the characteristics of the Lord are not shown in Allah. Not simply defined by the Scripture or even Tradition, but in personal experience as well.

2. the "walking target" thing depends on where you are. if you are American, likely, you'll be one (a target of society, not necessarily religion). if in Britain, maybe less so as there are more. situations vary. likely you won't be hated by muslims for being muslim

3. historical accuracy, you'll need to check out for yourself. the Qu'ran is not widely explored by non-muslims, and erego, you won't find too many people stating mistakes. as far as I know, the Bible in setting is accurate, the Bible in local events is accurate, in prophesies are accurate, but faith justifies one's perception of validity in its claims.

"Which religion is the true religion"?

Christianity accepts, embraces and rejoices in the divine nature of Jesus, Son of the one true God. Christianity has the covenant of the New Testament for the salvation of the eternal soul.

Islam, in my belief, is based upon violence, hatred, intolerance, deceit and deception. It was invented by muhammed after he rejected and denied the divine nature of Jesus. islam seems to be focused on PHYSICAL issues and pleasures instead of SPIRITUAL (eg, 70 virgins in "heaven", all the great food there, handmaidens and other servants to wait on you hand and foot, etc, etc).

The one true God is NOT the same as allah. God has always been, and will always be. allah is the invention of muhammed.

"Historically accurate"? Spend at least 2 minutes reading and you'll be AMAZED at what you can learn! Read just a tiny bit about muhammed (who believed that having sex with a 6 year old girl was his "gift" from allah...yes, self-fulfilling rationalization; who let his own family members take the fall for his own perversions; who believed in extreme violence and warfare; and who created a "religion" based upon delusional flights of fantasy where discussion or criticism is almost always dealt with harshly and/or fatally). Read many of the beliefs contained in the quran (koran) and TRY your best not to scratch your head (unless you have NO knowledge of anatomy, physiology, astronomy, physics, history, history of religion, geology, simple arithmetic, etc, etc, etc).

Your choice depends on whether you want to pursue GOOD or EVIL.

Your choice.

I think Christianity was the only religion started by God as Jesus Christ on earth. Christians believe that Jesus still reigns in heaven. Jesus also rose from the dead as many people saw at that time and believed.

All other religions were started by men that are dead and gone. Budda, Confucius, Mohammed, etc.
Judaism was started by God the father and Jesus was the promised Messiah.

But people love to argue and have wars so not everyone will agree to the same thing.
