Why would a athiest president never win an election. Why are people so uncomfortable about atheism? Some of the most brilliant people were athiests.

what happens after we die and leave our bodies? i dont beleive in heaven or hell. but i do believe that there is life after death in some form. i was wandering what other religions and people think happens after you die.

plz no christian responses. no hard feelings but i already know what the bible says about the afterlife.

How did the American accent develop exactly? If they knew no other way of talking, then how did they start speaking different? I know there are all different types of accents around America also, but still, New Englanders don't have the same accent as Great Britain. How did all these different accents develop, and how come we Americans don't just all have British accents? Also, how long did it takes for this to happen? Does anyone know a time period about? And what exactly is the cause? Just that they were away from England for years doesn't explain it.

ok, so the story goes, jesus had to be crucified. any other means of death would not have fulfilled prophecy and thus he would not have been recognized as the christ. here's what i don't get. anyone can get crucified. it's a pretty easy event to accomplish if you work at it. thus it's easy to self-fulfill. in fact, i've read up on this and there were several people claiming to be the messiah who were crucified as well. what made jesus so different? well that's like asking why does coke sell more than pepsi? it just does. there always has to be a prevailing story. by chance it was jesus'. i'd say a truly divine individual who claimed to be god could have thought of a more creative way to die that few people could have replicated, like being struck by lightning. then while he was in god the father form he could reveal how he will die to the prophets and thus make it much more difficult for people to go around saying they were the messiah.

SO many christians want there to be prayer in the schools. Why not give it to them with simple rules. Each morning there will be 15 minutes for all students to pray in the way they wish. There will be no lead prayer allowed. If a teacher tries to lead prayer they can be disciplined and fired for it for repeated violations. No student can lead prayer, if a student tries to lead a prayer they can be disciplined and expelled after repeated violations. No student or faculty can interfer with another students prayer as long as it is peaceful. Again repeated violations could lead to termination or expellsion from school.

Apostle paul states that they are not all jews that are outward in the flesh, but that circumcism that is of the heart?
by this statement, once we accept Him we are Jewish by circumcism of the heart and not of the flesh.

I would like to know how others feel concerning the Christain Faith vs psychics. Now I know in the Christain Faith it states that Christains should not have anything to do with psychis-sight seerers, whiz's, witches, etc.

Now how should Christains deal with psychics that help solve crimes, and beleive in God, Angels, and Jesus Christ who according to them never did die on the cross, but who marreied a woman, had kids, and lived with his family in France?

Since nobody has ever seen a living cell which did not come from another living cell, and since the theories of how it could have happened are not demonstrable in the lab, isn't it a bit premature to claim that it had to have happened according to your scenario? Some evolutions on this board seem to think that evolution theory is hard fact, not to be questioned. Dogmatic creationists take the same approach.

I wouldn't mind if you call it the most probable scenario but it's contrary to the scientific method to claim something is a fact before it's proven.

...well before that common hominid/hominin ancestor, and I mean waaaay back about 350 million years ago, we had a common ancestor to frogs and before that, 500 million years ago, we had a common ancestor to fish.

I mean, come on. Why are there still frogs and fish?

Why do Christians follow a god that is a god of the Jewish people? I would like to understand why a god of another nation is worshipped on a mass scale by those outside of that nation. Of course, I am assuming that the Christian god is a Jewish god, doesn't it say in their Lore that the Jews are his children?

I just saw an episode of the Tyra Banks show where everyone had something negative to say about all couples except a black and hispanic couple. The main couple that got the most negativity was the black man and white woman. So I just want to know if anyone else feels the same.

I mean, there are people strolling right in, dropping their pants, and DEFICATING! Sometimes URINATING, for anyone to see, and get this...they don't even close the stall doors because THERE ARE NO DOORS ON URINALS! It's ugly, demeaning to everyone, and STINKY!

So I propose new laws which require all public restrooms to 1) be very dimly lit, 2) have astronaught suits you put on to do your (yucky) business, and 3) only one person at a time UNDER PENALTY OF HOSE CLAMP AND/OR STAPLES.

do you guys realize that there is witchcraft and spirit speaking within the bible? and that there is by far more violence and sexual content in the bible?

how can u deny your child disney movies, and harry potter but let them read that bible garbage?

or do you just leave out the part where lot has sex with his daughters, or the one guy gives his sex slave to a town to be raped to death or the other many of sex stories in the bible?
