I live in a very rural area, so the nearest synagogue is 60 miles away. However, I have a time share [which I bought, in part, for this purpose] well within walking distance, so I am going to spend Shabbas with friends living in my timeshare. I do this about twice a month and for all the major Yom Tovim [Holy Days]. It is more difficult not living in the Jewish Community, but not impossible and with a little planning and forsight, it is very workable. This is what G-d wants, all Jews and gentiles living the Good Life, obeying His Torah and fitting their world around His Will, rather than trying to do the opposite.

Shabbat Shalom. Here's one for Challah: Ingredients 1 kg flour 2 tablespoons dry yeast 1 tablespoon salt 6 tablespoons sugar 1/2 cup vegetable oil 450 ml warm water Directions Place all the ingredients in a bowl and knead until a good smooth dough has been achieved. You can either do this by hand or in a counter-top mixer with a dough hook. Place the dough in a bowl and let rise for one hour. During this one hour, punch down and knead the dough every 15 minutes. Divide the dough into the amount of loaves you want, then divide each piece into 3 and start braiding. Place the braids on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Let rise for another 1/2 an hour. In the meantime, preheat the oven to 150 degrees C (300 degrees F). Bake the braids for 1/2 an hours. The dough is almost idiot-proof.

Shabbat shalom!
I am going to a French class, and then I am planning on catching up with some sleep!
To Kevyn: you are most welcome to visit a synagogue; if you have any Jewish friends, I'm sure they will be happy to invite you along, perhaps for a Friday night service.
If you don't know any Jewish people, find out if there is a synagogue in your local area. Try and find a Reform or Liberal one if you can, because then some of the service will be in English. Get in touch with them - there is usually an office that is open Monday - Friday - and explain that you would like to attend a service.
I hope you enjoy it and if you have any questions about anything, don't hesitate to ask on this site - there are a few Jewish people both in this category, and also in the Israel section.

I would love to go visit a synagogue, being that I barely know much about Judaism or the Shabbat services. :)

Well, seeing as I calculate the sabbath going east to America instead of west, the sabbath will be ending in just a couple hours from now.
