Yes, I know Mary was human. Giving birth to a god in human form; thats quite an admirable feat, especially playing a part in raising him to become .
I've been to Prsebyterian, Lutheran and Episcopalian churches, and they didn't mention Mary other than Christmastime. Maybe it depends on the pastor and his sermon, I don't know.

I went to Catholic school, but I'm not Christian. I was just thinking about this when I saw a question about Catholicism yesterday.

If Jesus is prayed to, shouldn't the woman who gave birth to him at least be mentioned and shown as an ideal example?

Okay, so we've established that it's likely that most of us went through that "fluffy bunny" stage when we started out- most of us as adolescents. So how do we move past that? For myself, personally, I find it hard to answer this question when a younger person who's been practicing all of about two years comes to me and presents me with this question. Anyone have any suggestions for advanced reading? (And if I see one more Silver Ravenwolf advocate, I'm going to scream...)

from the Catechism Of The Catholic Church

CCC 328 The existence of the spiritual, non-corporeal beings that Sacred Scripture usually calls "angels" is a truth of faith. The witness of Scripture is as clear as the unanimity of Tradition.
CCC 329 St. Augustine says: "'Angel' is the name of their office, not of their nature. If you seek the name of their nature, it is ‘spirit'; if you seek the name of their office, it is ‘angel': from what they are, ‘spirit,' from what they do, ‘angel.'" With their whole beings the angels are servants and messengers of God. Because they "always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven" they are the "mighty ones who do his word, hearkening to the voice of his word"
CCC 330 As purely spiritual creatures angels have intelligence and will: they are personal and immortal creatures, surpassing in perfection all visible creatures, as the splendor of their glory bears witness

Who-ever is tired of this question raise their hand...or drink, whatever :)

Just for all of the Christians who make the rest of us Christians look bad here are some thoughts
1. Maybe you can learn from non-believers
2. Maybe they are trying to learn from us
3. Don't put down anyone of God's creations! Even the one's who don't believe in Him!
4. You have NO right to judge anyone!
5. non-believers are directly related to religion also, they lack the belief of God, but they are also very educated people who make good points
6. NEVER be afraid of loosing you faith, If you are true to God you will not loose your faith, only strengthen it.

I believe that non-believers are all God's creation and he put them here for a reason, Yeah He would love it if they believed in Him and lived by his rules, but they don't. However God still loves them! Jesus died for EVERYBODY not just Christians!

Today was the funeral of a young army coporal, who was killed while serving in Iraq. The funeral procession was about 500 cars long and people were lining the streets to pay their last respects. It was sad and very touching. Anyhow, there is the "group" of religious WHACKOS who are there protesting because they believe the young mans death was caused by our acceptance of homosexuality in America. WHAT??? WTF??? Who are these people and what gives them the right to totally disrespect that young man and his family? I can't imagine the horror that this poor kids mother felt when she heard this nuts saying her son deserved to die because we are accepting of gays and lesbians. I mean this kid wasn't even gay, he was recently married. How do they even coorelate the two. What does being tolerant of homosexuality have to do with dying while serving your country. That young man died a hero and deserves respect, they shouldn't be allowed to disrupt someones funeral like that.

Matthew 24:44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

45 “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. 47 Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. 48 But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of

I really think forgiveness is a very important part of my life. It is the hardest thing for me to do as a Chrisian, but I've learned to do it any way ( I have a problem about holding down to the pain caused by others). Over the years I've gotten better though.
Here is my problem. If you forgive someone who has hurt you, is it alright to stay away from them, or does that betray the whole concept of forgiveness.
What if you know some one who hurts people, then asks for forgiveness, only to do the same cruel things again.

..the second commandment?Which,if you read the BIBLE,states "thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images..."
Ever notice how the "10" commandments in the catholic literature have # 9 and #10 BOTH talk of not coveting?Did God studder when He gave the commandments? The catholic church split #10 into 2 to make up for removing and breaking #2.BTW---the catholic church was NOT started by Jesus,it was started in 300 AD by Constantine.
