Why do some Americans act like racism is only between whites and blacks? I know some people that think if someone is racist towards a black person they're white and vice versa.

Because those are the most popularised 'racist to them' set- black and white. Of course, racism is extended to every 'race', not just to blacks and whites.

We've got 300 million people here. You can also find some Americans who believe that their Great Grandmother was a Space Alien.

300 million people. Lots of opinions. Lots of crazy. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

It's just historically most common friction. As society gets more complex pockets of other types of racism will pop up here and there.

Also most Americans are ignorant of world history, for example the long history of Japanese vs. Korean racism.
