It's the spirit of the law. The letter of the law brings death, but the spirit gives life.
In Romans, Paul points out that one person observes one day above the others, but another person observes all days alike.
Why should you put on a greater burden than the apostles did? Isn't that what Jesus said about the pharisees, that they put burdens on others that even they could not carry?
And isn't that like the "judaisers" who believed that you had to keep the law before you can be saved? Their big point was that of circumcision.
Whether it is the Sabbath or circumcision, if you rely on the Law, you shall be judged by the Law, and if you break even in one point, you are guilty of all.
Now, re-read Leviticus, and use a concordance to find all the references to the Sabbath and see what all that includes.
For instance, in one place, it says to observe the Sabbath, and then in the very next breath, it tells the men that they can not cut off the corners of their beards.
Another place says to go to Jerusalem three times a year. Again, that is in context with keeping the Sabbath.
Furthermore, if you observe the Jewish Sabbath, ask a Jew what all that entails, before you go pushing it on others. (As a Jewish believer in Jesus as Messiah, I KNOW, and trust me, you would NOT want to be under THAT burden.)
So, do you dare try to keep the Law, then ask for grace? It doesn't work that way. Again, "They that keep the Law must do ALL the things written therein" according to Moses, and according to Paul, "They that LIVE by the Law shall be JUDGED by the Law."
According to Hebrews, there is no mercy in Law. That was the weakness of the Law, and that is why God had to make a second covenant.
Furthermore, the Law, which came 430 years after the promise, can not annul the promise. The promise is the greater. The Law was introduced as a "nanny" so to speak, a "tutor" until the fulfillment of the Promise.
Choose wisely what you do now, because from what I've read in the Scriptures, your eternal destiny is at stake, because "The law came by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."
Paul makes it VERY clear that they can not work together. It's either one or the other.
God bless you as you choose.

Remarkably yes. Which is a no no. The Sabbath is still binding. It was only discontinued (by many) because of the Roman church. NOWHERE in God's word does it say in any size, shape, or form to dispose of the Sabbath. The Catholic church said though that it could do what it wants because it is above the bible. This is utter blasphemy. God's law is perfect and never needs to change.
Jesus said He came to fulfill the Law. This does not imply at all that he did away with it. Jesus was the 'lamb' blood sacrifice. He took away the need to go through priesthood to receive blessings. He didn't do away with the Ten Commandments He gave to Moses on Sinai. That is why He proclaimed to the arrogant pharisees '...the Son of Man is Lord also of the sabbath.' Mark 2:28.
The Commandments are still with us. We are still to obey them. We no longer have to do all those things the Jews did when one was disobeyed - like animal sacrifice. That is to include the eternal Sabbath, made for man (ALL men), the The one Jesus said to 'remember'. The 7th day in which He (Jesus) sanctified since the Creation of the world.
If you love Me, keep My commandments. John 14:15
God bless

Nine of the ten commandments are repeated in the New Testament. The one that is not is the Sabbath.
Christians are not required to follow the laws of the Old Testament. Jesus "fulfilled" the Old Testament and established the New Testament. The commandments of the New Testament apply to Christians today.

Paul makes the case that if you feel you have to keep any of the law, using circumcision as the example, then one is required to keep all of it, and in the process falls from grace.
Christians were never a party to that covenant law. You cannot be held to the terms of a covenant you were never a party to.
Christians are not bound to, or required to observe any of the law.
Does a Christian, who has the very Spirit of God in them need to be told not to murder, seeing as murder is the result of hatred; something abandoned in true Christianity?
No. The Spirit of God is a Spirit of love, and love fulfills the law. Refraining from murder when one has hatred is nothing more than just complying with the law.
Christians fulfill the law.

My Bible says that we do not follow the Ten Commandments. We break it. But through the promise of God we are 'counted' as righteous.
I know there are a lot of Christians who think that they can live the Ten Commandments, but I am NOT one of those. Rather, I am a sinner saved by Grace through faith thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ.
They can have the Ten Commandments, I will keep my eyes on Jesus! ( Hebrews 12:2)

I see the Christian faith as the "Reader's Digest Condensed Version" of Judaism.
Where the Jews have 613 Commandments, the Christians have condensed it down to 10, and some even went down to 2.
