Facts? or merely excuses to continue living the way we are?
Is this merely a way to try to justify our lifestyles when presented with Doctrine that teaches to the contrary?

I've heard that excuse fairly often. People tend to justify themselves using anything that comes to mind. Like most excuses, it contains some truth in it. Yes, we are not perfect. It is not that God wants us to sin, he just knows that we will sin. We are only human, but being human means that we are capable of improving.

God is a loving Father. I know that as a father I want what is best for my children. I know that from time to time they will fail. They will not know what to do. They will make mistakes. But, I expect them to learn from their mistakes. I expect them to listen to me and obey me. I know they will sometimes be disobedient, but I don't say "That's all right." I say, "Next time listen to what I say, and don't do that again." I expect my children to be children, but I also expect them to grow up and become good adults. They have agency to choose whether to do as I say, but I know they will be happier, lead more productive lives, and contribute more to the world if they will do what I tell them they should do.

God, in his wisdom, knows much more than any of us, but what he expects of us is given in the Bible, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Expecting anything less is an unjustifed excuse.

It is a fact, We aren't perfect, God does expect us to sin, and it is true we are human meaning we have a sin nature, but that does not justify us as christians to sin because once we accept Jesus we are to turn from our old ways and become new people we can justify our sin no longer, anyone who isnt saved has to be held accountable because they havent made that life decision, besides there is the disgusting theory going around that we can do whatever horrible sins we want but still call ourselves christians because God loves us it shows how far the world has slipped

The issue IS not our sin. The sin issue was dealt with once and for all on the Cross. God doesnt have perfect little christians running around showing off their goodness to everyone...he puts imperfect people into imperfect situations and allows them the opportunity to let HIM Live His life IN and thru them. Do they always do it right? NO...and He has made provision for that.

We ARE complete in Him. That is to say that we have everything we need to live the Christian life resident within us thru Christs presence in us. We also have an old nature that wars against the new nature. If you dont believe that, then watch how you respond when someone disagrees with you. wink wink

What WE do is never to be the focus, but what HE has done and is doing THRU us. It takes time for people to realize who they ARE in Christ. Their behavior will change as they learn new truths about themselves and make them their OWN.

We are not to judge others according to the flesh, but to see them according to who God says they ARE in Christ.

Try it for a week and see how your attitude changes.

ARE we perfect? DOES God expect us not to sin? Are we NOT human? No, no, and no. These are facts, but to use them as an excuse to sin is wrong and defeats the whole purpose of Christ's sacrifice.

I would say they are excuses. Romans 1 says mankind is without excuse. The purpose of the Law is to make you aware of your sin. Read the 10 Commandments and see if you've kept them. If you haven't, then you need Jesus to pay for your sin. Otherwise, you have to pay for your sins and you'll never stop paying for your sins.

Yes, and if He wills, God will also forgive most of our sins if we are truly sorry. But if we aren't, and continue to sin, than there will be punishment.

Yes, we are all going to hell. Haha! The idea is ridiculous. It is natural to make mistakes and learn from them. I don't believe in regret. I'm not going to apoligize for something I want to do. As long as I am not hurting anyone, It's okay.

No, God expects us to follow His commands.

However, He knows we will stumble and fall from time to time.

Grace was instituted to cover our missteps, but we are still expected to do our very best at all times.

we are not perfect. God does expect us to sin and to fall. our imperfections are what bring us closer to Him. He wants us to repent. He wants us to need Him. and we do.
