Isn't the ability to act telekeniticly an assumed power of prayer through God?

Isn't it true that belief in the reality of telekinesis must be considered as an essential for any belief of God's ability to create of manipulate change since without it no change of anything existing in our physical reality could be touched or acted upon with any real effect.

Without belief in telekenesis, some prayers would, by definition, be entirely impossible... would they not?

Where would telekinetic ability be harbored if it exists at all... in God or in God's believers?

And I let them know they offended me and they say they can't remember what they said. This co-worker of mine said in front of 8 or 9 other co-workers at lunch that everytime she walks by my cube I'm always on the internet and that I don't work. This was after I said that my product was going to do really well for our company. I responded by putting my head down and saying nothing, because it was embarassing and partially true. I do work but I don't work all day when I'm at work. I do spend some time on the internet. Maybe too much at times but who's to say. A lot of the time I'm waiting for a response from someone.
Anyway, if I said this to someone and they had the reaction that I did I think I would have at least remembered it. More realisticly I think I would have been embarassed myself that I said something so insensitive.
But my question is, is this a person I should keep hanging out with at lunch, that they don't even remember something like that? Is this a cold person?

I'm a convinced Atheist from Amsterdam, and the whole concept is alien to me. Objectionable lyrics I obviously understand , downright bad music also. That the lifestyles and actions of some
publicity hungry talentless 'stars' pre - occupy your children at the cost of valuable topics I'd still understand.
But where does censuring start ?, does it directly pertain to
religion and it's values, how about innocent songs about nature, or instrumental music. Where does the evil start ?.
And if applied very strictly isn't there the danger of sheltering your children from mainstream youth culture, can they ever adapt once they mingle in the world out there.
Won't they be socially handicapped if they eventually leave, and have to enter a secular society, can they relate to others.
Don't they rebel ?!, I was a kid once and certainly did !!.
And I wasn't nearly under these sort of restrictions.

I've heard that science cannot be trusted because it is a human invention.

Are you suggesting that humans created the idea that repeated observations and empirical evidence are a satisfactory methods of determining facts?

I'd like to pose the question: Is this a form of egocentrism?
The belief that we MUST be more important than we are? It reminds me of the Church's reaction to Galileo when he theorized the earth was not the center of the universe. He was absolutely pushed into a corner because of the belief by the religious that we HAD to be at the center. He was part of the church and he was forced to recant his theory and live the rest of life on house arrest on orders of the Inquisition, (the Church) -and we now know he was right.

Sometimes the Church eats it's own young.

So why is the idea of evolution so offensive? Fear of the unknown? We don't claim that the sun actually "rises and sets" like it literally says in the Bible do we? Why do we see science as against religion and push out the people to whom God gave a great mind for the patterns of nature or physics? Did God intend the Bible to be a scientific manual?

Are we afraid we are not as important as we'd like to be?

'Split a piece of wood and I am there, turn over a stone and you will find me.'

This phrase was mentioned in the film 'Stigmata' and was said to be the words of Jesus. Does anyone know if the phrase appears in the bible anywhere? Or anything else about it?

Cheers for your help.

For those Christians who believe in creationism without evolution. If it could be shown without doubt that everything evolved blindly over billions of years through natural selection only and with no supernatural intervention, how would this change your Christian beliefs? Would it invalidate Christianity? Would you be able to find another creative explanation?

Alright so honestly, I'm quite into learning things and I'm quite sure there are a lot of people who probably know tons more on the subject. I was just wondering what the real history behind it all, there's so many theories now it confuses me. I'd also like peoples actual opinions on the subject. I don't know what ever you can tell me would make me extrodinarily happy.

Frank, or Robert, or Blake, or Osama, or George, or Samantha? Is it possible that God is Bi-Sexual and that is why he created both man and woman and a few mixed genders in between? Maybe he is a true rainbow and that is why we have yellow, and red, and white, and pale, and dark skinned people throughout our world? If it's not impossible it must be possible right?

...how can Protestants justify Sola Scriptura? If I write a book, am I not the authority on what it means? Is it guaranteed that I have placed all my knowledge into the book such that nothing else I say can be added?

2 Timothy 3:16, "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching...", does not imply that the Bible is inerrant. Paul was not even referring to the New Testament when he wrote that, as it did not yet exist. He was referring to the Jewish Scriptures, and worse, inspired != inerrant.

I don't get it.

77 Jesus said, "I am the light that is over all things. I am all: from me all came forth, and to me all attained.
Split a piece of wood; I am there.
Lift up the stone, and you will find me there."

I know this is a quote from the Gospel of Thomas but this is the closest to describe what I experienced.

Please note that i am not religious what so ever but have studied quite a few religions and a lot of spiritual texts.

Was this God or not?
