For those Christians who believe in creationism without evolution. If it could be shown without doubt that everything evolved blindly over billions of years through natural selection only and with no supernatural intervention, how would this change your Christian beliefs? Would it invalidate Christianity? Would you be able to find another creative explanation?

Why do Christians think that evolution is a conspiracy to do away with god? Even the scientists who are Christians believe in evolution. Evolution is simply where all the facts lead for anyone who is approaching data with a clean, unbrainwashed mind.

Yes I am a Christian and do also believe that evolution is correct. As insignificant as we are as species, and our determination to cause our own extinction by treating mother earth as we do and having her one day have enough and wipe us off the face of her, you would think that at least some people would pause to think that maybe none of us has all the answers, in evolution, or religion... That our knowledge of how this happened could not be explained in such a way that we could understand it... Humans think that they are so clever... and yet we destroy the very sanctuary that we live in with no regard to what will happen tomorrow. Yes I evolved as all humans did from what god decided to spark life into... not what man decided god sparked life into... see the difference?

Christianity won´t change at all. Just some people have to see things differently.
The bible was written also as a book of history. But how would you, without knowing anything about science, explain someone, knowing as little as you do (about 5.000 years ago!) how everything surrounding you came into existence. The easiest thing is to explain it with god, isn´t it? The bible in large parts is also the book of history of the Jewish people at those times. And this has been used also by the Israeli forces during some of the wars. Besides, in the bible you also will find environmental orders like: Pick thee olive fruits from the tree for 6 years. The 7th year just let the fruits fall to earth and don´t use them.
Besides, there are very many skeleton rests found all over the globe. And those rests are by far not alike.
Further: How would those fundamentalists explain that there are so many different skin colors like white, black, yellow and all in between? In the beginning there were only Adam and Eve, whatever color they had! There must be some evolution, right?! Go to a museum, there you see the technical evolution.
I hope, I gave you something to think over. I am European Christian!

I'm a catholic and the the Roman Catholic church has officially stated that there is not conflict in holding that evolution has occured. I really do not see one either. Even if it can be proved absolutely true that evolution happened, it does not mean that there wasn't a creation, a point in time that this universe was set in motion by a creator. I think that is the essential question and science really isn't equipped to be able to give us that answer by scientific investigation, because they are restricted to empiricism.

Point being, if evolution happened, that doesn't in any way interfere with the postulation that there is a creator and creation, or the fact that the creator in question, at some point decided create human beings with an immaterial soul. The catholic church certainly affirms at least these two things: God created this universe and at some point a being was created with both a material body and an immaterial soul: man.

If you could prove that God didn't create everything, but evolution did, then the Bible would be wrong. And when the Bible is not true, then how could we believe in God. God said that He is life, and He is truth and He is the way. God said the world is His and everything in it. Man doesn't own anything. God created the first man, and man and woman multiplied by copulation. Man didn't evolve from nothing. God says that life is in the blood.

Evolution started with every attempt to do away with God. What you call evolution today is not the same as what evolution was originally called with the monkey to man chart.
Whatever you call it today is still a masquerade because that transitional being cannot be found. We find many mutations in history and these are not stronger, but weaker characteristics. They weaken the specie and not strengthen it. Evolution means changing over millions and billions of years to becoming better. This cannot be seen today or even in the past.

Where do you see evidence of billions of years? Does Niagara Falls show billions of years? Does the Mississippi River show billions of years? Where on this earth do you see billions of years? Where in the universe do you see billions of years?

If you could prove billions of years, then rest assured that God brought it from the third heaven to the earth or universe. God brought it from somewhere that did have billions of years, but not this universe. God doesn't lie. Man lies everyday. God can be trusted. Man can't be trusted not even as far as you can throw one. God is truth. Man is a liar.

If evolution is true and Genesis is not literal (it can't be as creation is disproved), we have several problems not the least of which are:
1. The origin of original sin.
2. If one part of the Bible appears to be literal bu isn't then any and all parts may be taken as non-literal and are open to any interpretation, reasonable or not.
3. Blood sacrifice for the atonement of sin and hence the need for Jesus's death are questionable.
4. There are also implications that God would be misleading in presenting a story of creation...

In essence, it means that the bible is on shaky ground for being the infallable word of God.

I would still believe. First off, I don't believe half of what is said in the bilbe. Why you might ask - it's man made. We as human are full of flaws. The idea of preserving the stories of Adam and Eve, Jesus Christ, the story of Exodux, etc.. is hard to imagine being completely correct to begin with.

By the way, the theory of evolution took a major blow a few weeks ago when it was discovered that two different species of man that were once believed to have one evolve from another, were in actuality living at the same point.

It's interesting because I subscribe to both the theory of evolution and Christianity (which is hard to do) but I will be interested to see what scientists make of this new discovery.

Christianity once forced everyone to believe the world was flat as the sun spun around it, Using a sharp pointy sword to enforce this belief. They adapted to a "round" world, they should be able to adapt to the scientific truth of evolution.

Like anything they must adapt or perish. So far they are not doing well. Clinging to creationism may make a joke out of peoples belief.... driving apart the different sides of christianity

It would not invalidate Christianity, insofar as it can be understood as compatible with Christian Dogma, and at least a symbolic interpretation of Genesis.

I don't need a literal 6-day creation for my Faith to be true, but I simply have not found the arguments presented by evolutionists to be convincing after having researched both sides of the issue.

If. Fair enough question-I put the inverse of the question back to you-How would your beliefs change if it could be shown without doubt that everything did noy "evolve blindly" (which very few believe-most believe in some type of control-even if they couch that by inferring we have a self repairing system of some kind) over billions of years....
Your Answer. I can not conceive in my mind your scenario, therefore your question makes no sense to me and therefore has no real answer-only thin suppositions.

The Christians would get over needing to refer to their interpretation of the Bible as "literal." They have distorted that word out of all recognition in calling their particular interpretation a literal one. It cannot be, when there is so much interpretation that has already been done before it got to them (even if they read the oldest available English Bible, the King James) that they are not reading the Bible without interpretation, no matter what they do.
