Isn't the ability to act telekeniticly an assumed power of prayer through God?

Isn't it true that belief in the reality of telekinesis must be considered as an essential for any belief of God's ability to create of manipulate change since without it no change of anything existing in our physical reality could be touched or acted upon with any real effect.

Without belief in telekenesis, some prayers would, by definition, be entirely impossible... would they not?

Where would telekinetic ability be harbored if it exists at all... in God or in God's believers?

Telekinesis has never stood up to rigorous testing. In that sense, it's similar to any religious belief.

Hey, I'm no theologan, but it seems to me that you are making a huge assumption here, i.e. that our "thought" is akin to God's "thought" or that prayer works (if it works) directly. Hey, perhaps God holds all the cards here - He hears prayer and though His power gives it form? That does not leave much room to argue that OUR thoughts have any telekinetic power whatsoever. There may be some argument for telekinesis but I don't think this is it...

Thoughts cause body parts to move all the time.

I have never associated telekinesis with God.

I have a book of amazing stories. There was a woman in the 30's I think, that could move a book of matches with her mind. This was in a controlled setting, it had nothing to do with god.

nope. read on the medium "Mirabelli". a materialization medium earlier this last century. Only solid entities can move solid objects. Often spirits are part materialized to move these objects, using a mediums energy (often the medium never gets the energy back and is left exhausted and eventually loses their health from this).

Yes thoughts can cause objects to move. My thoughts are causing my fingers to type this right now.

But this power seems to be limited to that which is directly interconnected with my brain.

no. I disagree. God does not need to give humans the ability to "move" things when He has power to do all things.

No. That would be very easy to prove if you had that ability.
