...Than with parents who spank?
Also, if you get spanked by your parents, do you wish you were in foster care???

By the way, i'm not talking about beating or anything, just a spanking that does not leave any bruises or cause injury.
It seems to me that all those anti-spanking fanatics who think spanking should be illegal don't really have childrens' best interests at heart, since they think that children who are spanked should be taken away and placed in foster care, never to see their parents again.

There aren't really any children to protect since you have to be 13 to join.

I know you have had to report something at least once, why did you do it?

I will occasionally report a 'thanks for the 2 points' answer cause you think they could have at least tried to be funny. Amatuers.

For the record, we are all in our 30's. My best friend was the most drunk out of anyone. When I was helping her to the car, another friend needed something out of the truck so I asked my husband to step in and walk her to her car. He came over and told me that while he was helping her, she grabbed his package twice and he pulled her away. The third time he called her husband over (who was trying to get things together to load in their vehicle) and asked him to take care of her. Now, the next day, he wants me to talk to her about her behavior with him. We both had a great time at the party and I trust my husband and don't really feel anything about the situation because he told me. I don't feel its neccessary to scold her when she would never have done that without being drunk. Do I need to say something to her?

I'm 15, and I'll be a sophomore. I have no problem talking to and listening to people one-on-one or in small groups, but I have an AWFUL time in larger groups and I also get very nervous when I have to give speeches in class. I'm MUCH better than I was a couple of years ago, but I still have a ways to go.

I've learned to relax, but that's not always enough.

Any advice on how to ease into this would be GREAT, thank you.

Also, I'm not looking for attention, I'm looking to meet new people, learn, etc...Thanks :)

Would you allow your child to go to church if they wanted to? If they believe in God, would you try to talk them out of it, or let them form their own beliefs?

If it is my destiny to die in a car accident or be born an orphan in Darfur after having to watch my mother get raped and murdered in front of me, then my "free will" is therefore meaningless.

Please christians say something that makes some semblance of common sense!!!!

Killing the Amalekites:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070813105118AAs76wg&r=w#P5xUHU35E0w2Lj0EwizL

The Christian responses are shocking. They acknowledge and encourage killing infants and other innocents as being morally right and acceptable. Incredible.

Hitler believed God gave him the order to kill 6 million Jews. Are you Christians okay with that?

I'm not talking about acquaintances, but rather close family members and friends you've known for 10 or 20 years, and who knew and were reminded of the upcoming day in recent weeks.

Example a brother never called or sent a card, and parents remembered at the last minute and called late in the day to apologize for forgetting and not sending a card, let alone a gift. Best friend for 20 years doesn't remember at all.

With mom and dad, I say just let it go - say "no worries - the call and happy birthday wishes are plenty -- thanks a million" so that they don't feel bad. For brother, same thing - just tell him it doesn't matter.

What about for best friend? Anything.... most of me says just move on - as an adult, this crap shouldn't matter.

I'm sorry for the broad generalization, but it just seems like some of you just have no idea what the theory of evolution is. Who was it that told you that the theory of evolution says we evolved from monkeys?

because of a basic spiritual/emotional immaturity?

I had this ephipany: when my brother and I were kids we loved movies with lots of car chases and explosions and people screaming and running away from the Mummy. We hated documentaries: BORing!

Now, as adults, we love documentaries because of the messages they give us, and we don't need the emotional "rushes" of exploding cars and stalking mummies.

Are fundamentalists the same way? Do they prefer the fire and brimstone b/c they aren't mature enough to see beneath the relatively "boring" message "Love one another?" Do you think they love the judgementalism and hate-mongering b/c it's essentially more fun to an underdeveloped mind to be all scandalized than to embrace the calm maturity of "Love one another"?

I'll give you an example which I'll prob. get some slack about.

My husband spanks me and I like it and want it that way. So for us that is "normal" for us.

One persons abnormal is another persons "normal" , so how can that word be defined at all?

Curious to what you think. Thanks!
