Do you trust in the Lord? Do you know if His great promises to those who love Him?

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Any thoughts on this 'preaching' method?

And please state your religion, thanks.

Hi, I have seen a lot of things in the workplace, but this one has me a little puzzled.

I have a coworker (she is a new hire- 3 months on the job) who wants to know everything I do at work and as soon as I tell her, she will go ahead and do exactly the same thing. If my boss asks me to go meet someone for a project, as soon as I come back, she will ask ton of questions about the person. And by the end of the day, she will call the person to schedule a meeting to discuss about pretty much nothing. Or when I am writing an email, she will come over my desk and watch what I am writing without my consent. She would ask me questions about my private life as well, althoguh I have been direct with her on that.

I am a little concerned that this may have an impact on my performance.

Now, my question to you is this: what would be her motivation for doing this? How would you handle this situation in a friendly way? I am a male by the way.

I had read about Ouija boards, and I wanted to test one out. I wondered if the planchette actually moved by itself. So I made a homemade one out of paper, and placed it under the glass top on my kitchen table. My mom and I tried it out for a while, but it didn't work. So I jokingly made up an spirit named Penelope Rockwell. I couldn't help laughing as we both knew we were pushing the pointer. We gave up because the thing didn't work. But, later, the table somehow rotated so that the Ouija board was positioned in front of my chair. All of my family promised they didn't do anything whatsoever to move the table or the board. We are very honest people, so I completely trust them. Maybe it was explainable, but I think it was a little weird..

I might be wrong, or misunderstood, but God loved Abraham,,, he promised him and his wife a son even though they were old,,,, They waited and waited, but no son,,, so they decided he would sleep with there slave girl to have a son,,,, then afterwards they had there own son,,, isn't this adultry, and an example of him not trusting Gods promise for a son,,, was it even mentioned what God thought of this? or did I get the story wrong????

Basically, has there been anyone that has inspired you to think bigger, brought insight into things that you hadn't seen before, or helped you to understand the views of others.

For me, there have been too many to name individually (sort of a cop-out, because my contacts list is huge and full of people that I've learned from). But who inspires you?

please, no religious deities, I'm only asking for people who write and compose their own Q&A on R&S. Thanks everyone!

Do you leave it to the last minute?
Are you well organised and relaxed with your feet up while everyone else is panicking?
Any useful tips?

I've had a couple of charity Christmas gift catalogues in the post this morning, which made me think 'Goodness me, Is it that time already', or words to that effect.

Every year, I make a list of people and presents and plan to get the shopping done early and not leave it to the last minute. Last year was the best effort - shopped in good time but left the wrapping til the last minute and nearly got caught out.

i am talking about prophet Mohammed (pbuh),, these are some of the things he had or things he used to do

His blanket had several patches

He had very few spare clothes, but he kept them spotlessy clean

Even when he had become the virtual king of Arabia, he lived an austere life bordering on privation. His wife Ayesha says that there was hardly a day in his life when he had two square meals.

if as some people claim that he was an evil man, wouldn't he have lived the best of life,, with thousands of servants, best of cloth, best of food, gold and silver everywhere... but NO, he lived a simple life, he did not occupy himself with worldy things...

Once some of his disciples, noticing the imprint of his mattress on his body, wished to give him a softer bed, but he politely declined the offer saying, "What have I to do with worldly things. My connection with the world is like that of a traveler resting for a while underneath the shade of a tree and then moving on."

My mother-in-law recently spent the weekend with us. Upon arrival, she clearly said to me (and in front of my wife), "I brought you a present," and then opened a bag containing a small bottle of choice vodka, and a bottle of Kahlua. I thanked her, and then she -- not me -- placed them in our pantry. One night at dinner we each had a vodka tonic. When she left, I noticed my "gifts" were gone. I asked my wife where they were and was told her mother had taken my "presents" with her.

Suffice it to say I was insulted that someone would be so
rude and lowbrow to abscond with one's gift. But there's
more. I later found out from my wife that when they were
unloading her mother's car, her mom told her the libations were a "treat" for herself.

Am I making too much of this or is it there some subliminal difference between a "gift" and a "present" that allows the giver reclaiming rights?
