I mean I don't welcome your nasty comments about my believing in Jesus and such so why waste your breath.

At what point did I mention I was a christian, oh you automatically assume that I am christian because I believe in Jesus. Well, there are other religions besides Christianity. I only voiced in the last question why people find it alright to make fun of Jesus in cartoons for petes sake. But I forgot what the jewvision has made acceptable.

Because God forces them to testify of His existence. In the long run no one can avoid reality.

In the case of nasty comments remember that Jesus has been spit on before. Such testimony is proof he is living; for men do not swear by the dead. Just praise the Lord that you are free and no longer in bondage to sin; and move on.

People who dont believe in your "god" can still be religious. This isnt an exclusive term only to the Christians. I find your close mindedness sad. There are many religions outside of Christianity and people like to learn about them. I'm here to learn about other religions and expand my mind and understanding. How about you? are you only here to complain about others who dont share your view?

Perhaps they should have a christian question section if this is how you feel so the rest of the religions and spiritual people can ask questions and give answers freely without being whined about constantly.

edit "Well, there are other religions besides Christianity" Well there you go. .... So why are you complaining then?

As a Christian I do welcome all to the hallowed halls of YA Religion & Spirituality.

*thirsts for hope and then drinks of it, thanking the Holy Spirit*

Although some of the Q's and A's are as you say "nasty", many are amusing.

I would rather have those who consider themselves atheists close by so as we can help them to understand...

*goes to fridge and takes a gulp of gatorade*

Just because they don't believe that an old man with white hair and a beard who lives in the sky is responsible for everything doesn't necesarily mean they are an atheist.

Not all Christians are fundementalists, some of us can discuss theory and symbolism at great length without bringing up any of the "mumbo jumbo" that they hate...

Peace,

AAD

If you look at my past answers to questions in this category you will see that I have never made nasty comments about anyones faith. The same can't be said about some Christians who criticize atheists, Muslims and anyone else who doesn't agree with them.

The name of the category is called "Religion and Spirituality" which encompasses a wide spectrum of belief, including non belief.

You say there are other religions besides Christianity, yet the phrasing of your question is strongly biased toward it. While one /might/ describe the deity of Jews and Muslims as "God" (although Muslims prefer "Allah" and Jews have a variety of more specific names), the question makes no quarter at all for polytheistic religions. I do not believe in God, (the common name of the Christian deity) but I believe in gods (each with their own names) and I have religion and thus is why I am here.

Hasn't it ever occurred to you that there are so many different religions, like Christianity, or Catholics, or Jews. They all can't be right! So what makes you think your belief is the right one? Any proof? It's safer to say all Gods are made up to make people feel better about dying. I'm just curious and we are allowed to be in any category we want to be in.

Q: For the people who don't believe in God, why are you in the religious category?

A: If you don't like the beliefs of the people on RS what are you doing here?

Just because someone isn't religious, doesn't mean they're not interested in hearing other people's views.

You're always going to have trolls who waste their time insulting people, regardless of topic. But there are people who come to these forums to express an opinion - Which is good.

Yahoo should create a new category for people who do not believe in God to ask their questions there.

Am sure there isn't any because its no fun without GOD and
they know it.

Honey, I am not in the "religious category". In case you hadn't noticed there's a random section where questions about any old thing are posted. I pick out and respond to the ones that peak my interest, or where I feel I have something to say or contribute.

I have to make the observation that you seem to be pretty angry about people who don't happen to think and believe the way you do. I don't know why. After all, isn't that the way it's supposed to be? For every human being to be able to feel free to think and believe as he feels he has to?

Here is another thought. Even in that category "religion and spirituality" it is intended as a forum for people to discuss ALL their thoughts, ALL their feelings, ALL their opinions, ALL their points of view on that subject. Not just the ones on that particular side of the issue that YOU happen to support, but on ALL sides.

At this present time, the statistics state there are about six and a half billion human beings on this planet. That's billion with a B. That's a looootta people with a loooootta different beliefs, and thoughts and opinions. You are one of those people and by golly I would stand shoulder to shoulder alongside you and battle with fiery sword against anybody who tried to rob you of your personal right to think and believe any way you want to. In return, YOU have to quietly accept the equal right of all those other six and a half billion minus one, who happen to have thoughts and beliefs different from yours. You do that with a smile, and it makes you a winner, and you can afford to turn your back on anybody who is foolish enough, or ignorant enough to make "nasty references" to your personal beliefs.

I try to live in harmony with people of every size, shape, skin color, and religious belief, and having travelled the world, I do believe I haven't made a half bad job of it. I don't give a tinker's toenail about your "belief in Jesus" because it isn't my business, it's yours. I don't like, or not like anybody based on only one thing about them. I'm pretty much of a health nut, and I guarantee I would have missed out on a lot of wonderful relationships if I had scratched off my "friend list" everybody I know who's addicted to fast food and hates broccolli LOL. Anybody who happens to not believe in your particular god and your particular way of thinking, isn't necessarily a "bad person" or "out to get you" or "out to insult you". What about all the religious fanatics here on Q & A who can't spit out enough insults and hatred for Atheists? What are YOUR thoughts about that behaviour? I am not talking about anybody who has clearly insulted or mocked you for your personal beliefs. I am talking about the non-believers who have insult and mockery hurled at them just because they have expressed their personal point of view. That happens a heck of a lot more on Q & A than I have ever seen it happen the other way around.
