christian. isn't it funny how there is a pecking order within itself? But it is hard to say since all denomations are christians, but not all christians are all denominations. For instance, a catholic is a christian, but a christian isn't necessarily a catholic.

A Christian is a follower of Christ. Christ is our example to follow. Some know if a Christian is a Christian by asking them if they are born-again. Usually that is true because they would have had to read some bible to know what that means in the first place and Jesus said we must be born again. Seeing the way people live, act and talk is another way to know. They will chose to live for God before living like the world does. They actually enjoy reading their bible and do what it says. Not that Christians are perfect, since we are human we make mistakes here and there but we do not desire to live in sin and repent of it, quick and keep going in the faith. Unfortunately there are fake Christians out there going through motions and using bibles no one approves of but their own sect to excuse their behaviors.... Jesus already warned us there would be those people. Pray for them and pray for the lost. God bless you.

here is the problem the christian movement faces... they see what the churches want them to see... not what really exists... they sucker people into their cults by showing a kind face... like come here little child I got candy for you.. until you are in the car... the reason the KKK or the skin heads exist are because that is the true face of christianity... the devil will say to the people you believe what you want as long as I own you. so the people say I'm the real christian as long as they keep getting people to be christian it will exist.. what is the true face of the christian the KKK people like the pope, or dynamic wealthy preachers are the wolves in sheep's clothing... the blind walking into their doors are like the sheep being led to the slaughter... the omens and signs are there.... in the end... what is the worse of christianity built christianity... and that will never change no matter how many sheep they gather, because the wolves will always be running the show.

The name "Christian" was given to the disciples first in the city of Antioch in Turkey (Acts 11:26) to those which believed that Jesus Christ was the Messiah promised from the Old Testament. Before this they were consider a Jewish sect.

There is the difference between a true Christian and a false Christian. Jesus compared the church with a field were there is wheat and tares. That is true Christians and Christians that are not Christians in their heart.

A true Christian is not one only in name, but in faith, and practice. True Christians are not perfect, but forgiven by the grace of God. However, they don't take this forgiveness as an accuse to live in sin, but they have an ongoing desire to do the will of God.

Christian means a follower of Christ, lots of people say that they are christians and that they believe in God but they say it for the wrong reasons.Of course Jesus wants all of his children to follow him because they love him wich is a true christian but that is not alawys the case and it is really sad. Jesus died for us so we could go to Heaven,Jesus died perfect with out a sin but he died taking all our sin and shame,he did that because he loves us.I think that it is great knowing that somebody loves me enough that they would die for me,just because it happened a long time ago dosen't mean it didn't happen.Jesus really did come down here get beaten and nailed to a cross for us so we would have a Savior and a way to Heaven. All we have to do is accpect him and repent of our sins.Jesus is alawys there and alawys will be.God bless

You can be saved and be a christian. But, a true christian is some one who lives the Godly life and has given all they can to the Lord to do his work. You know some just go to church on Sunday mornings and sitting there and do nothing more. Then there are thoses who get out and tell others of him and invite them to his house and truely do work for the Lord.

"Christian- [a] believer in Jesus Christ as savior: somebody who believes that Jesus Christ was sent to the world by God to save humanity [from their sins], and who tries to follow his teachings and example [as set forth in the Holy Bible]."

The key words here are "and who [try] to follow his teachings and example". Unfortunately there are many who claim to be Christians, but there lives neither mimic or follow Christ teachings or example.

Being a Christian or a follower of Christ entails more then just mere belief, it requires action. For even the demons believe and tremble, but their destination will not be the gates of glory.

A christian is a person who believes in the Divinity, mission of Christ as Savior and Redeemer (as in saving men from death and hell by taking their punishment and for their sins and saving them from death and hell through the suffering, crucifiction, and resurrection by grace through faith) and promises to be a disciple and obey because they are his servants The minor details of what they believe or not depends on the amount of understanding they have and the denomination they belong to. A "true" christian is someone who is not hypocritical and truly believes what they say and lives what they believe.

Jesus, who is God, died for your sins and rose again. Heaven is for those who believe, hell for those who disbelieve to their dying breath.

Salvation is not by any works. Only by the above belief.

The Bible is the unchangeable Word of God, without any error at all.

If you believe the above, you are a true saved Christian. If not, you are a true Christian.

The people who say that generally are referring to themselves as the "True Christians"...
Still, it is farly obvious that most of the folks who refer to themselves as "Christians" aren't following the teachings of Christ...otherwise, the U.S. wouldn't be in the shape that it is today. At least 80% of our population refer to themselves as "Christians", and yet this nation is anything but.
But never fear.
Jesus says that He knows His sheep and they know Him. They hear His voice, He tells us, and will not follow the voice of a stranger.
What He says to Peter, He says to all....
"Follow Me."

He did give us a way to know His disciples, although it is getting harder and harder to see beneath all the hype.
He said the the world would know His disciples by their love.

The definition of a Christian is quite simple "one who follows Christ" is really all it means. Perhaps whoever spoke to you is referring to people who are following Christ and His commandments as "true Christians" and those who go to church but then do whatever they want outside of church as
"Christians"...but if you think of it...those who do that or as the word says are in "two waters" are not really Christians at all ..and the Bible says that those who tread in lukewarm water God will spit out. so...yeah...

Basically there is only one kind of Christian and that is the one who follows Christ whole-heartedly...all others are....well....how about we say works in progress :)
