For a lot of seniors who have had a long life, they have become very attached to where they live. If you marry, one (1) of the two (2) will have to give up a home and things that could be a lifetime of memories. That person could become bitter.

Additionally, if you have lived alone for sometime, you may have developed habits that someone else could not live with on a daily basis.

For some seniors, having a friendship, but at the end of the day, going to their separate homes works well.

At our age? I don't know about you, but I'm 60 and happily married for the second time at 50.

I have someone to share all my ups and downs with. I don't need to be lonely, I always have someone to hug and smooch. The income is better with two than one. We share families and friends and chores. I have companionship with my very best friend every day of the year.

Personally, I don't want to be alone in my old age. If I didn't have him, I would move to be near my grandchildren and probably would never date again.

Other than the possibility of enhanced financial security and a companion further down the road....not much...I actually enjoy living alone and doing things 'my way' - find it very satisfying and I've learned so much about myself since my marriage ended and later my last child moved out.

I have to agree with the last answer. I love my life just as it is. I live alone with my pug and we are very happy just the way we are. I am not sure a man would want to accept my dog so I am just going to live my life as I have been living it.

I would like to have a nice, Christian companion to do things with. I have lots of girlfriends that I get together with, but it would really be nice to experience a guy around the house again before I croak.
