So i was in the car today with a friend and she was listening to a christian radio station. And then this 'infomercial' started. it was telling kids not to be mean to their parents because it was a sin. and then it said 'so, you think that god wont care about one little sin? your wrong. God will become infuriated with you and you will be sent to hell. So, do you decide where you want to spend eternity now.'

i was just wondering, is it a good idea to scare people into behaving, and following christianity?

So I've read some answers to similar questions here, but none have given a satisfactory answer.

God created Jesus, then the Angels, and then man. Jesus and the Angels reside in Heaven, that is their place. Jehovah created the Earth and the things in it as a place for man to reside. If we are supposed to end up in Heaven in the end anyway, why was the Earth created? For what purpose?

Some say that it's because we need to be tested first. Well that reasoning fails because first, why don't the Angels require testing before being able to reside in Heaven? Second, man was created perfect. There would be no need for us to be tested. Unfortunately, Adam sinned which caused human imperfection.

As I stated earlier, the Earth was created for man to reside upon. That is Jehovah's purpose for creating it. He would not abandon that purpose for the Earth just as he didn't abandon man when they sinned.

If so how do you explain the Myth of Horus and the fact that it directly parallels the ideas about Jesus including Virgin birth and ressurection. Did you know that there are over 15 stories that parallel that of Jesus but were written before his time? Did you know that the idea of the Virgin and the Sun(son) {of} God, Dec 25th , Easter et cetera all came from astrology and the stars? If you are willing and able to think for yourself watch this movie and tell me what you think. Zeitgeistmovie.com

Aren't you all tired of debating this ad nauseum? I bet not a single person's opinion has been altered by the endless debates on Y! Answers.

Everyone has faith. Even those who deny God's existence cannot PROVE God's nonexistence, so their faith is in the nonexistence of God.

This is something that cannot be conclusively proven either way. That's why faith is required. As a Christian, I believe in the existence of God, and in the deity of Jesus Christ. However, I can't prove either of those. Nor can you, if you disagree with my claims, PROVE the opposite is true.

Shall we move on to subjects where the discussion can be more fruitful?

Heres my question to you then: In Acts, Jesus calls for all the people to give all their worldly possessions to the church and let the church take care of them as is needed. That is church sponsored socialism. Is that the type of society you want to live in? In Peter, Titus, Luke, Mathew, Timothy, and Ephesians, Jesus comes out in favor of slavery. In many of the instances he descibes conditions under which a master may beat a slave into obedience. He also instructs followers they are justified to kill (by stoning to death) someone who would speak of another religion. I guess as a non christian I'm just wondering do you really believe these Ideas are the will of God?

Not from a better than, or condesending way but because it is the closest any human being has ever come to knowing GOD from a human perspective in his son Jesus Christ...

Since GOD in itself is not in human form but is light that prevails all life and the universe he is distant to us human beings, but the most remarkable event in history the GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD is how God manifested himself as a human being as Jesus Christ Father, Son and the Holy Spirit...

I don't think any other faith has come this close to knowing the Creator of Heaven and Earth do you?

You might not believe Jesus is the Son of GOD but you cannot disprove he walked this planet as a human being for us to see a glimpse of GOD's ultimate plan for human exsistence.

Thoughts?

I am praying for her and so is my family but it would be great if you would pray for her too. I believe in power in numbers, my prayers are with her and I wish for all of your prayers to reach her too. I am very worried about her, I have never seen her this ill before. Allah is simply the Arabic word for God. Allah for Muslims is the greatest and most inclusive of the Names of God, it is an Arabic word of rich meaning, denoting the one and only God and ascribing no partners to Him. It is exactly the same word which the Jews, in Hebrew, use for God (eloh), the word which Jesus Christ used in Aramaic when he prayed to God. God has an identical name in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam; Allah is the same God worshiped by Muslims, Christians and Jews. Muslims believe that Allah's sovereignty is to be acknowledged in worship and in the pledge to obey His teaching and commandments, conveyed through His messengers and prophets who were sent at various times and in many places throughout history. However, it should be noted that God in Islam is One and Only. He, the Exalted, does not get tired, does not have a son ie Jesus or have associates, nor does He have human-like attributions as found in other faiths.

Out side the hummimg of lawn mowers sing harmony. My oldest has settled down with a book to read. My youngest will be swimming at preschool right now. He is tan and fit, so that his easy smile shines the brighter. My woman is the soft warm breeze of summer itself, that blows through me.

This morning the rabbit who is our unofficial pet had come to play in the rhubarb. No doubt the arrogant squirrels that have colonized our maples will be dancing around the yard. It is a yard that needs a trim, tonight? Maybe, but my paintbrushes are getting dusty, maybe not yard work tonight.

The sun is hot, and has made the world lazy, but no time for laziness when the family calls and there is art to be made. Then there will be fall with cooking, bright leaves, long walks, and a the smell of woodsmoke. Winter will come and give its blanket and a peacefulness in which to rest and reflect. Then the explosion of spring will lead us back to the singing mowers of summer.
Is it enough, could my heart hold more, are fairies or angels required?

In the Bible, God creates Eve from Adam's rib. This is why Eve had one more rib than Adam. However, men and women today have the same amount of ribs. According to prominent creation scientist Ima Lyre (say her name out loud), this proves that Lamarckian evolution is false.

Lamarckian evolution is a discredited theory that states that organisms pass on phenotypic (rather than genotypic) variations to their offspring. This means that if Adam was missing a rib, his children would also be missing a rib. Since Cain and Abel had all their ribs intact, just as all people do today, Lamarckian evolution is false.

I know that evolutionarians already reject Lamarck and that my argument does not actually point to any flaws in Darwinian evolution. However, I'm hoping that people will mistakenly think my argument is sufficient to disprove Darwinian evolution.

As long as I can trick people into thinking evolution is false, I win!
