No. The word "ark" come close to an english word "box" however with most things there are exceptions, so does the word "ark".

Noah's ark was in rough terms a box built to contain those of the society that followed after G-d. It was however built in a large size and meant to float as a refuge for samples of all wild life, in that they might continue the worlds population after the flood. Such it was called Noah's Ark because he and his wife, three sons and their wives were all of the human family which belived Noah's prophecy of a great rain storm. The account of the Noah's Ark comes to and ending, resting upon MT Arat after the flood.

On the other hand the "Ark" of the covenant was the box of which Moses built to contain the stone tablets, on which G-D wrote the ten Comandments. It also was a box much smaller then Noah's ark and was very special in construction, and finished form. It was overlayed with much gold and Cherubums to guard the contents. The contents being the stone tablets with the Ten Comandments. This ark was carried on special poles by the priest's of Levi and it was forbidden any one should touch the ark lest they die.

PS. One other reply said they were made of stone....No both were made of wood, The Ark of the Covenant held the stone tables Noah's was made of gopher wood.

The ark of the covenant did not exist until hundreds of years after the flood.

The ark of the "covenant" is referring to the ark that God informed Moses to make when Israel was given the law covenant in 1513B.C.E.

The flood happened 2370 B.C.E., about 850 years before the ark of the covenant was even built.

No they are two different things. The ark of the convenant is the stone box that carried the two tablets listing the 10 commandments given by God to Moses. Noah's ark was a boat.

Boy, have you got things confused.

An "ark" is a container that can be of various sizes and hold different things.

The ark of the covenant was a container for storing the stone tablets, along with a few other things related to the old covenant.

The command was for them to read the scriptures at a time when everyone couldn't read. Then learn what the bible said and tell others. But as with everything else they wanted to show they were a priest and see how holy I am and made a case and put it on their head. It was called a scripture containing case. Which was to small to actually contain a scroll. But it was large enought to draw attention to themselves so they could show the world how holy they were.
But when Jesus came to earth the rich pharisees were so corrupt that no case could have saved them.
Don't you see where preachers have to wear special clothes and scarves or all black or something else to distinguish them from the general population. Muslims women were all black and nuns have to wear a habbit. Anything to show others they are special and God loves them more than the rest of us. It is to get attention and I doubt very much if it empresses God all that much.

But they are saying I am so modest or I am so good or I don't have sex or I must be special to God.
the bible says they are having their reward in full by getting attention but it is short lived because it really doesn't empress God.
He looks for modesty and humility and loving kindness not a show of cases or clothes.

God was never in the "box". God's law was in the box, Aaron's staff representing the authority of God, Manna from the desert representing God's provision. The "Mercy seat" which was where God met the priests was the vital part of the Ark. Not what was inside. Oh yeah in answer to your question No.

Here's a few more to laugh at, Sleep well tonight.

Here are some men and women who mocked God:

JOHN LENNON:
Some years before during his interview with an American Magazine, he said:
"Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue about that. I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple. Today we are more famous than Him." (1966)
Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

TANCREDO NEVES (President of Brazil):
During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency.
Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he died.

CAZUZA (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):
During a show in Canecão ( Rio de Janeiro ), whilst smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said: "God, that's for You."
He died at the age of 32 of AIDS in a horrible manner.

THE MAN WHO BUILT TITANIC:
After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said: "Not even God can sink it."
The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic.

MARILYN MONROE:
She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He is a preacher and Evangelist and the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her. After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said: "I don't need your Jesus.
A week later, she was found dead in her apartment.

BON SCOTT:
The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang:
"Don't stop me, I'm going down all the way, wow the highway to hell.
On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his vomit.

CAMPINAS/SP IN 2005
In Campinas, Brazil a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend. The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter - holding her hand, who was already seated in the car: "MY DAUGHTER, GO WITH GOD AND MAY HE PROTECT YOU."
She responded: ONLY IF HE (GOD) TRAVELS IN THE BOOT(trunk), COZ INSIDE HERE IT'S ALREADY FULL."
Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died, the car could not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the boot was intact. The police said there was no way the boot could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the boot was a crate of eggs, none was broken.

Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus. Many have died, but only Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive. JESUS!

No, it was Moses' arc. He put the tablets of the commandments in the arc, or what remained of them. It was stored in the Temple before it was sacked.
