GOD doesn't answer your prayers? Do you pray? and if so, do you expect HIM to answer your prayers if you don't believe in HIM?

some are not understanding what I am trying to say...I know people who are so-so believers, and they wonder why their paryaers aren't answered...and my question to them is "well, what have you done for God lately?" You have to give of yourself in order to receive!! I hope this clarifies the question for you...this question is not intended for atheists, only those who think that God exists, but don't follow Him!!

God dose answer all prayers .But he dose it in his own way and own time . You may not even realize that our prayer has been answered ,cause it may not be to what you were wanting . And for those who do not have faith in god or even say that they are atheists still some were in the back of there mind they believe in a god of some sort and who is too say that isn't but 1 god who is all in the same ...................
For example ...My brother said for many years that he was a atheists ,But he got into a situation and he prayed too god and his prayer was answered and now he is trying to become a ordained minster

Praying for things somewhat contradicts some religion's point of view. Most religions advocate giving up worldly possesions. They tell you to let go of the ego. Yet when you pray for things, your asking for things (which is also promoting the ego). Now would God give you something when He told you to give up all your things? Possibly not. And this is also assuming God plays an ACTIVE instead of passive role in this universe....

Do you think that you can control God?
So by your logic if you believe in God strongly then the chances of your prayers being answered is greater. So if a child dies from an illness after their mother prays that her child doesnt die, you would console the parent by telling her that it was her fault her child is dead because she didnt believe strongly enough?

It's not a case of God not answering skeptics prayers, but rather skeptics are not spiritually receptive to receive God's reply.

What's with your capitalizing GOD?
When I was a Christian, some of my prayers did seem to be answered, some did not. But the rate at which they were answered was exactly the same as it would have been with blind chance.

If you have to do for god to have your prayers answered wouldn't it cut out the middle man to just do for yourself and answer your own prayers?

I believe in God, but I have to agree with the above poster. Are you SERIOUSLY asking if an atheist prays to God?

Why do Christians always try to claim that unanswered prayer is directly related to lack of faith even though this has been proven time and time again to be utterly and completely false?

Think about it for a second...
You're asking me if I pray to a God I don't believe exists.
