that you just got tired of feeling "bad" all the time? This isn't meant maliciously to any Christians who read this, I am giving my viewpoint and wondering if anyone else felt the same. I personally just tired of being told how I will always fall short, I was born in sin and will die in sin, as a woman the fall of man was all our fault, orginal sin, etc. One of the reasons I drifted away was I got tired of feeling bad all the time.

In Greek mythology, Midas (in Greek, Μιδας, often referred as King Midas) is popularly remembered for his ability to turn everything he touched into gold: the "Midas touch".

When a good person prays to be saved would they pray God please forgive me I am a good person?
Are we not to say God forgive me I am a sinner? God I believe in you and want to turn from my sins and surrender my life to you.
Jesus siad: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” Mark 1:15

Kind of difficult due to different beliefs, but bear with me

Atheists: Let's say King Morpo, creator of the universe meets you after you die, has a proposal for you. Offers you to reincarnate as a human one time. Would you take the opportunity to live a completely new second life, or was one good enough for you?

Christians: God does the same for you. He stops you before the time of Judgement, says he'll give you another life on earth and you have no recollection of your past life. Would you take that offer, or would you rather go straight into the afterlife?

Any other faiths that would like to weigh in, please feel free to do so :)

Do people not find the concept of eternal life somehow cheapens your current existence? The probability of you ever being conceived in this universe is extremely low yet here you are and you're concerned with the next life.

What is the point of living forever, even in the grace of a God? Why is it not enough to appreciate the now, make contributions to humanity and then move on into oblivion? After all, the latter concept seems much more special, unique and interesting to me. It also provides much more context on life.

So please, I'm not being judgmental, but why do you want to live forever? Do you not find it cheapens you? Is this a reaction out of fear? I'm very curious.

So someone broke into my friends car last night and stold her Ipod and adapter and my longboard that I had just got like a month ago and paid $120 on! They did not steal hers for some reason...just mine. It just is so frustrating because why can't people just make their own money to but thing JUST LIKE WE DID!!! I saved for that and spent a lot of time deciding which one I wanted. Then I finally bought it and someone just takes it. Why? WHY?!?! Ugh it just makes me so mad...

and still make it to heaven WITHOUT the need of a savior? If Mary could do it as a human, why would god need to come down to earth to prove it could be done? In that regard, isn't Mary a better example than Jesus, because she did it WITHOUT having magical god-like powers?

why can't EVERYONE be born without original sin?

I know this is an entirely christian concept, as Judaism has no original sin, but I'm going to run with this for the christians out there who think their god is loving. Jews, you already know this does not pertain to you.

If your god is loving, why can't it allow all people to be born free of sin until they actually commit a sin? He did it for Mary, why not for all?

First of all, I recognize the possiblity of there being a sense of absolute morals but for the purpose of this question I am assuming that doesn't exist.

At least once a day someone posts a question that highlight some passage of the bible which allows for behavior that by today's standards are viewed as morally wrong.

However, if there is no moral absolutes, how can you say that the Bible's morality is any more or less wrong than your sense of morality or the current cultural sense of morality of wherever you may live?

it is said that most people have notgot a great understanding of the religion that they practice, therefore why do you believe what others tell you so blindly? I am an Atheist, but I know more on the subject than most christians!

I know most Muslims know there faith inside out but they are brought up with religion as part of life, most western societys are not.

If you say because you are a good person or do good things. This is called self righteousness. You would be saying you have salvation in yourself and do not need God. Basically you are saying you are your own god.

Another subject that gives me headaches
Abortion.
Here in Brazil abortion is ilegal, also the third cause of death amongst wemen are illegal homemade abortions ( I’m going to stress how bad this is by putting asside my Christians beliefs and write in the clearest form of english: “Its F@cked up”).

1)What is your opinion on this, shouldn’t we be concerned with education and prevention rather than the liberation of abortion? Still, in my country at least things seem to be far beiond that point... (feel free to bash my country, i wont mind)

Also I must say that, personally, i consider abortion a very bad, very wrong thing and i consider it to be murder.

2)How is it not murder? Given the conditions of things in my country is it justifiable? Sincerely speaking I must say It fells kind of a hypocrite being against the legalisation of abortion in a country where illegal home made abortions are the third cause of death amongst wemen (again: “#*&$”).

That alone is enough to give me a monster headache. If you add to that:

Stem cell research (is it diferent, all the fetus used are meant to be discarded, they will never develop anyway)
Bible teachings i believe to be truthfull and very, very important
Cases of rape
... Well my head is about to explode here. Really, shouldn’t all these people know better? Shouldn’t both religion and science be teaching people how to take care of themselves, that sex is a big deal? Should famous celebreties give a better example or something?

Its too late to make a long story short, still to sumerise: What is your opinion on abortion? why?

This question is for ALL RELIGIONS:
Is it actually against your religious to go on dates and kiss before you are married when no sex is involved? PLEASE give scripural references!!!!! Some pastor, imams, and rabbis will tell you it's wrong and will not have scripture to back it up. Also, there ARE cases where people date and kiss and this does not lead to sex.

IF we all came from Adam and Eve then we came from incest.

Not once, but twice.

because when Noah built the Arc and only his family members went on it.

So once again it had to of been incest.

What do you think about this?
and is incest a sin?

God created mankind (Adam and Eve) and they sinned so He cast them out of the Garden of Eden, right?

But God is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent (omni-X), right? So He should have known that they would sin. Let's go under that assumption because the one thing we can attribute to the Abrahamic God, presumably, is omni-X. Now, from what I've gathered, Adam and Eve had a choice - free will - but even so God knew what they would do before they did it.

So from what I can tell, God specifically created mankind knowing beforehand that it would sin, be cast out of the Garden, and then have to undergo eons of suffering as a result of our nature.

Is that right? Please feel free to show me where my logic is flawed but PLEASE don't tell me that God's intentions are unknown to us or that God love us etc.

Based on this logic, God created us knowing we would fail in the paradise He set up for us and then suffer for our nature.

That seems a bit... idk.

Is Jehovah really a malevolent daemon bent on decieving people from the truth and deceiving them so that they end up in Tartarus?

Adam and Eve? Failure.
God decides to murder everyone with a flood and start over.
Then massacres whole cities.
Talks to Abraham...that doesn't work out so well either.
Decides to try the Jesus thing...
What's next?
