If Christianity evolved from the Jewish religion, then why are there so many Jews today? Surely this must give the lie to Darwinism?

Food stamps are conduit captalism at work. The governemt gives a person a food stamp card, that person then goes and uses the card at wal-mart, who sells them the food for a profit. Why don't we just cut out the middle man and give the money directly to wal-mart

There is a guy who is interested in me, but I am not. He wants my number, and wants to know if I'll go out w/him. Being raised a JW I made the choice of not getting married (I am 22) and wait until paradise. Seeing how the world is and that marriage is not a happy union in this place, I would rather wait until Jehovah has brought his paradise to actually enjoy the sanctity of marriage. What should I tell him? I've thought about telling him that I am seeing someone within my congregation just to keep him out, but I'd be lying to him. By the way, this is phone conversations from work. I met him only once last year. What can I tell him? I have never had a boyfriend, and don't plan on it. Due to my choices, there is another problem. People at work are saying I am a lesbian, not full out but their intentions and behavior makes me believe that they think that. I know I am not, I've already expressed my intentions. Any suggestions on how to handly both situations?

hey so i am very confused about something?

in the original bible God says that he is the only One. That we should not worship anyone but Him, & God stresses that fact many times.

So why do we worship Jesus. Is that not contradicting what God has said?

Why rewrite the bible, almost makes it look like God has made a mistake, or someone thinks He did?

Plus. Both bibles were written by man - dictating what God has said.

Considering how superstitious people were in those days, how do we know that the bibles were not just a fabrication of some random person?

Was it because of the control issues? Did you discover their teachings were not biblical? Were you confused by the history of false prophecies? Or...something else?

And if you did leave, do you today consider yourself to be a Christian, or did you leave religion altogether? Thanks.

Catholics: Are you tired of being confronted about our traditions and being told that we follow the "traditions of men"? Do you find yourself unable to locate & quote the scriptures that support the following of tradition? Do you want to be able to effectively defend your Church's teaching as St. Peter told us to do? (1 Peter 3:15 "...always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you".) To learn the basics about defending "Tradition", go to this link: http://www.catholic.com/library/Scripture_and_Tradition.asp

After reading that introduction, dig deeper by reading these books:
"Reasons to Believe" by Scott Hahn
"Catholicism and Fundamentalism" by Karl Keating

Seriously.
The entirety of the R&S board fits into the following categories:
#1. Proselytisation.
#2. Attacks levelled at other groups.
#3. Satire.
#4. General-purpose trolling.

None of the above imply any semblance of respect for the beliefs of others. As such, why does anyone here even pretend to be respectful of the beliefs of others?

I'm openly disrespectful of everyone else's beliefs (yes... everyone)... and am honest enough to admit it.

What about you?

buying junk food...

or getting into an expensive car.....

or pulling their welfare card out of a designer purse...

I cannot believe the responses that said, do not judge...it's none of your business..

Do you not realize it is my taxpayer money paying for these people's food? I have worked hard, sacrificed, saved and done without so that I can support myself and my family. Why must I support you with my taxpayer money, when you have not made the same sacrifices? Why must I support you because you made poor choices. You chose to buy an expensive car, rather than buy food. You chose to buy the expensive clothing. You chose not to go to college, not to pursue a career...

Don't get me wrong. I do not mind giving temporary help to those who help themselves...but, I am tired of people who take advantage of the system.

When you steal from the government, guess what? You are stealing from me and all other taxpayers....

Your thoughts
