Yes, there is a disaster/bad thing happening on Christmastime ... that sociopathic, abusive and violent ex (who assaulted my children and stole my vehicles, stole my personal property and broke into my quarters on post) ... HE (through his attorney) served me Divorce Papers/Complaint at Christmastime -- this is while I was struggling to replace the children's Christmas Presents and trying desperately to keep the bills paid (since he stole every dime and penny and every bit of what was in my bank accounts that month as well).
so ... although it was a horrible time ... I was having to deal with being verbally attacked and stalked and having to keep changing account information (and freezing my accounts, kept reporting identity theft, assaults, property damage and everything else) ... it was the BEST thing that could happen ... because I now could negotiate the price of MY Freedom (And the Freedom of my children as well) from that short disaster of a marriage.
And ... the moral of the story is ... now I am an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree ..
who is enjoying her pensions, living in the HOME that I've purchased through the hard work I did (and my earnings), and although the ex once again Burglarized my HOME in August 2006 (and it was also the same day that I would have celebrated my mother's birthday if she was alive) ... I have NOT been assaulted, stalked, had any further damage to my home or anything else ever since ... (too bad it was an adult child (who was abused by this ex, their father) that willingly helped burglarize my HOME this last time.

My personal favorite memories are when I was younger we would go out the night before christmas and play with fire sparklers, fire crackers and one year us kids threw one into an unsuspecting neighbours house,it went off and then we bolted away as fast as we could. On turning the corner of the street I ran into the owner and as my knees were trembling,he yanked me to our house and I got the paddle that night.

Easter Disaster- I was like 10ish and my bro was about 5ish, was at g-mas for the week...I swear this is true:
1) Brother poked me in the eye with a stick, went to the Dr., had to wear pirate patch
2) Brother got bit in the face by the dog, visit to the Dr.
3) Covered my bro's hair with glitter nail polish...thought is was for hair...he had to have his head shaved.
4) Allergic reaction to swabs under pirate patch, visit to the Dr
Needless to say my g-ma made the trip back to my house to drop us off in record time.
