Ok then Soul Shaper, if that's true, then what sin did my gf's little brother do? He's autistic, so what did he do huh? God does not exist, otherwise why would he give little kids like my gf's brother such a hard time with living? Diseases and Disablitlies are a sad thing, and they are caused by pathagens and birth defects respectivly. And the only demonic forces out there are the people who are evil.

I'm a believer and I don't believe diseases and disabilities are demonic or a punishment from God. It's very annoying when one christian has some off the wall theory like this, and people assume we all believe that. The stereotyping around here is getting old.

Hmmm, no, that don't sound right. How about this:

Because man was created pure but woman was not. Woman chose to dirty man, man agreed, man now faces his own demise. See how easy it is to accept blame for ourselves rather than accept the mindset that anyone not a believer is better than those believers who are to blame?

Man created the sin, man created the disease. God sits back and shakes his head because even though we call ourselves men, we still act like children with all the cry baby crap that comes along with it. Punishment from God? I don't think so. We punish ourselves because we like the feeling of being demonic. It's like a real screwed up fetish ya know?

First, I do not believe that disease and disabilities happen because God is punishing people. God is Love not evil!! Human beings through repeated sin, unhealthy living, and so on cause themselves to be afflicted with disease and/or disabilities.The book of Job however does prove to be one source whereby you can see that Satan and/or other demonic entities may have power to afflict the human body.

Has anyone ever considered that being born with severe disabilities and diseases might be God's way of punishing those individuals who broke several of his Commandants in their previous life?

Don't just scoff this answer off as being stupid, there has got to be some logical reason for someone to be born with multiple disabilities and incurable diseases on top of that, Maybe, this is what HELL is, being born again, back in the world you just left, but not in the same physical state. This time around, you are born with major disadvantages that you must endure for the rest of your life on this planet, whether you like it or not.

Think about it!

Wouldn't this be the perfect way to punish someone who had disobeyed God's teachings in their previous life?

Because they don't have any real answers to how the world works and they like to make up stories that include a man in the sky. It is so sad. Why can't they just say, "because we as living things aren't perfect and are succeptable to catching diseases and being disabled." Think about this: why won't god heal amputees?

I agree with robert p how that sickness came ito this world as a result of sin.

Here is are few examples as to why some Believers believe this.
Deuteronomy 28:27
The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.

1 Samuel 5:6
But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.

1 Samuel 5:9
And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the LORD was against the city with a very great destruction: and he smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods in their secret parts.

1 Samuel 5:12
And the men that died not were smitten with the emerods: and the cry of the city went up to heaven.


Some are curse as what happened so often in the Old Testament. The rest is from Satan because he comes to kill, steal, and destroy.

God doesn't punish people with disease.
However, I am interested to know how many people with schizophrenia and the like have demons.
I have seen demons whispering lies into peoples ears, they are demons of lust, envy, anger, pride, resentment. They keep at people until they break and give in. Thankfully God is more powerful than these wreched beasts.

I think people look for easy , black and white answers to questions or puzzles in life, rather than realize that there are a lot of questions that cannot be answered by us.

It so much easier to say something is punishment by God than to realize that horrible things happen to both good and bad people regardless of their beliefs.

It also makes them feel better about their own belief (if I believe in God, nothing bad will happen to me), which is not true.

Most do not...

I believe in God and I don't think mean spirited things like that.

I have known too many good-hearted people with HIV and cancer to ever think such a thing.

I also do not blame my god for hurricanes and terrorism.

I thank God for what (s)he is able to do to help people who are praying and leading the best lives they know how.
I respect any Buddhist, Pagan or Christian who feels the same way... and try to ignore the angry "devils" of every religion.
