Being the professional and objective religous scholar currently around, I think I should jump in on this one and make a few points. First of all, not being rude her, but Christianity IS a religion, no matter what some people say and think.

A religion is a set of beliefs, tenets, and practices refering to a higher force such as the divine or supernatural beings. Christianity is a set of beliefs, tenets, and practices having to do with God. Thus, Christianity is a relgion.

To expand on this a little, there is a set of six thing that are particular to most or all religions, and that most religions have in common.
1. Belief in the divine in some form.
2. Set of Holy Days
3. Set of sacred texts
4. Clergy or religious leaders
5. Ritual practices
6. Moral or ethical structure

Now, being that all religions have most or all of those six things I have named, then again, Christianity falls under the criteria of a religion.

Have another one on me Daughter of Isis :)
The people claiming Christianity is not a religion are wrong. Mind you I have no problem with Christians, but the few who force their beliefs on other people cross the line.

Whoa...this is so weird. Last night I was driving home from a concert and thought of this exact same question. (No need to point out how weird it was that I was sitting there thinking about Y!A R&S while I was out with my friends.) I was driving home thinking to myself that many Christians claim that Chrisianity is not a religion, that it is a relationship with God. Then I thought to myself, "Tomorrow I'm going to post a question asking Christians why they are here" but you read my mind! I'm starting to think you and Riegan are psychic... freaky.

Cheers!

Well, lets be practical. I love my wife and have a wonderful relationship with her and now how much others would be blessed to get to know her too. So I introduce her to others alot because I want them to be blessed. Now, My relationship with Jesus is even better than that so should I keep my mouth shut about him? Should I not attempt to introduce him to others who do not know him so they might be as blessed as I am?
