since the Catholic Church is the one that compiled it. everyone, who knows history, knows of this fact. if the Church didn't preserve it, there will be no Bible for you to read.

Hello, and thanks for your responses.

I had heard that the Koran loses much of its meaning and poetic beauty when it is translated into other languages. Some people claim that the Koran cannot be truly understood unless it is in Arabic.

With all due respect, how could Allah have expected to reveal himself to the world via a text dictated to an illiterate man (Mohammed, pbuh) that cannot be enjoyed outside of its native language?? Am I expected to learn another language in order to become a true beleiver?

Or ask Him about the relevence or nature of our faith?
I've read many comments using phrases and words like "blindly follows", "brainwashed", "mindless sheep", "you never question your God", "lemmings", "religious zombies" and many many more.

Do you think we are not curious about God?
Your thoughtful responses please.

Here is the Christian belief system in a nutshell. Please read carefully and point out any flaws in the analysis. Note, I am looking for doctrinal flaws, not flaws in the choice of words.

Christians believe that God the Father sent God the Son (and most believe them to be the same being thus making him his own dad) to be born of a virgin. His purpose was to die and rise from the dead to cleanse sin from his followers. Sin came into the world when a woman made from the rib of a man made from the dust of the earth listened to a talking snake and ate some fruit. You can take advantage of the sacrifice and zombification of the Son of God by telepathically accepting him and telling him that every day, taking extra special time to do that on Sunday. If you don't accept him he will send you to hell to burn for all eternity. Oh yeah, and he loves you...

i don't know a lot about deaf people, as i don't personally know anyone who is completely deaf.

i'm not referring to people who become deaf later on or have already learnt how to speak. i was wondering how babies or children who are born deaf learn how to speak for the first time? i mean, they cannot hear other people and themselves speak, so how do they know how to pronounce words?

Nobody really knows the answer to this question. What are your beliefs? It's simply hard for me to believe that after you die, that's it, nothing else. We were brought into this world for a purpose, to live life, to die and to what? What happens next? This can't possibly be IT, can it? What do you think?

Do you understand the message? What do you think of it?

It's a very intelligent (constructive) criticism of religion in general and Messiahism in particular. It doesn't ridicule or make fun of you, so please don't be afraid to watch it.

Perhaps you do not pray because you think there is no God or you think he does not answer prayer or whatever it might be.

I challenge you to pray this prayer and see what happens. "Jesus, if your real, show me."

I see over on a lot of parenting forums that whenever someone brings up the washing mouth with soap punishment that some posters always refer to "the kid who died from it." What kid died from this? Does anyone know?

I am aware that it varies with each indivdual child, but on the average, at what APPROXIMATE age do you think a child would be to be of the 'age of accountability'?
I'm not speaking in reference to legal age, this is in reference to laws given by our heavenly Father.

no biased or unnessary remarks please

Is the United States a free country? Why or why not? Please say if you live in the US or not in your post, because it might be revealing.

I want to first gauge how people feel about their own liberties n this country, and also gauge how other people in the world perceive our liberties.

2. What religion/faith/philosophy do you adhere to?

3. What country do you consider your own?

To me harmony and balance means respect and that we should treat all of our relations as we want to be treated because we are all connected. Of course, I know that we need darkness as well as light and I know that we must learn the positive as well as the negative.

Why is it that people always say that speaking slang/AAV is bad when dealing with mainly white customers because they don't understand it, but is it bad if someone constantly uses big words when speaking to you. I guess because using the big words make you seem more intelligent, but while trying to sound smart you also confuse alot of people. And again some people don't find that type of language Articulate, but what about the people from diff. countries is their language not articulate because they speak different?
