I see over on a lot of parenting forums that whenever someone brings up the washing mouth with soap punishment that some posters always refer to "the kid who died from it." What kid died from this? Does anyone know?

My grandmother did that to me once and I'm still here. It may have been from many years ago because of the soap was made from? I think these days its much safer. My own kids have eaten soap bubbles and they're still alive and kicking.

Sorry. Not too sure. On another note, a kid died from eating mothballs once. It was a really sad story, cause i was a kid when the story came out. Scared me for days.

The lye in some soaps can kill if the child swallows enough of the soap during this abusive behavior by a parent.
