Perhaps you do not pray because you think there is no God or you think he does not answer prayer or whatever it might be.
I challenge you to pray this prayer and see what happens. "Jesus, if your real, show me."

starjumper - If you ask for a loaf of bread, God will not give you a stone. I am not asking people to go jump off a cliff and watch Jesus save them.

why don't YOU do that, let us know how that conversation goes.
Ok I'll humor you.
Jesus if you are for real, show me, don't screw around with subtlety either, I'm dim witted and will miss it, please jesus make it obvious like... give me a raise or something.

Do you mean uttering those words, or actually believing them?
Believing them would require believing in God first, and that means the self-delusion is already begun. From there, it's easy to convince yourself that any emotional response is being downloaded from some other source, and the excitement at that "discovery" leads to more emotions. Once you get past that threshold of expecting something to happen, you *make* yourself feel funny in what's called a positive feedback loop.
No God necessary.
I'd bet anything that merely uttering the words accomplishes nothing.
As other have pointed out, none of the prayers I made while still a Christian were answered.

I challenge you to pray for *anything* specific to occur. And then I challenge you to resist the temptation to call the outcome "god's will", since if all events are god's will then what's the point of prayer?

Sorry my friend I tried but no answer from jesus.
I gave it one last chance.
To be honest. I and other students prayed to jesus and god for 12 years that I was in a catholic school and none of our prayers were answered.
edit:
I tried again two more times and nothing, sorry..

I know God exists...I still do not pray. There is no need.

Thanks for the challenge, I'll pass.
FYI I was brought up a catholic, and you'll find that a lot of people who are atheists have a lot of knowledge and experience about religion.

Here's another jolly test. If there is a God, let him strike me down where I stand/sit.....................AND I'M STILL HERE!!! Wait wait, my stomach hurts, and now my hand itches. Ah, it passed. Never mind.
