Or African, or *****, or whatever you want to call it.

And it seems to be working. many Black people assume that they have white or indian in them. Im not saying that there are no mixed Blacks. But Segregation was law until the 1960's and the Black population has been pretty much isolated.

My point is, I have noticed a lot of people saying that Blacks in America are "not really Black." How Black do we have to be?

Black people have already abandoned the idea of Africa as our motherland, are now going to abondon being black altogether?

Hey all. I’m a 22-year old guy. I’m gay, and I’ve known I’m since I was very young. I never had any attraction towards females, and I’m closeted. So far nothing new or different. What’s different is the culture I live in. I live in the Middle East, where basically, gays & lesbians are considered mentally sick by the vast majority of people, and in need for medical and religious intervention. I’ve been born and raised in a religious, Islamic family. They have provided me with love, money, education and much of what parents give their children. But unfortunately, as everybody around, they have the same view about homosexuality. So are my friends, and so is everyone I know, even the media. It’s very hard for me to keep hiding who I’m, and what adds insult to the injury is that I’m considered the “White sheep” of my family. I’ve been always the smartest in school, the most “moral” and religious. Even I didn’t accept the fact that being gay is OK, and used to think it’s against God, and that I’ll go to hell because of it. It took me over 5 years to finally accept myself, as I only understood what being gay meant very late, when I was about 15 . And only until last year that I accepted that I cannot change who I am, and that I’m normal. But As I said, it’s practically impossible for me to tell my family about who I really am. The least they would do is send me to a psychiatrist or make me get married sooner than I’m expected (Yeah I’m expected to marry a girl and have kids...Etc). To give you one incident that explains what I mean:
There was this once when my little brother suspected I watch gay things on my computer because he found links in it. He told me that he’ll never speak to me again, and then he told my mum that when he gets married, he doesn’t want me showing up. But of course, no one believed him, and I managed to convince him that I’m not gay or anything.

I thought of moving away, but I’m helpless. I still don’t have my degree (Medicine, takes sometime), and I never held a job or earned my own money, besides I need a visa to get to many European or North American countries. And believe me, I sometimes cry over myself. I never had the chance even to fall in love with a guy, or hug him romantically or anything, on top of my closet status. I sometimes feel like dying from the inside. I’m even afraid to write down what I feel in a diary in fear that someone could find and see it. It’s so depressing. No one to come out to and expecting them to say “That’s OK”.
I just wanted to share this with people who are like me, or at least see me as normal. I’m not expecting you to magically find solutions for me…Just opening up to you guys & girls.

I feel it's human nature. I know everyone, once in a while..feel pride about something we did or have... and have this bit of arrogance, even while we might not express it. One thing I dislike the most is arrogance, especially on material things. Are there some ways in which we can remove arrogance from our hearts; and remove the fact that we are least bit better than anyone else.

A friend of mine was making fun of a girl at college, who I know and she doesn't... because the bag she was carrying was not an authentic name brand and she said it seemed fake. This girl she was talking about lives with her single mom who is clearly struggling. I was so outraged.

Allah has said anyone with the least bit of arrogance will not see the doors of Jannah.

"If your aware of your humility;than you are arrogant"

Are there any specific dua's you can say? And can you give me some hadiths regarding this matter.

NON-Muslims- What do you think about arrogance? Is it immoral or just nature

Article in USA Today this morning:

http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2007-08-02-doctorsrefusals_N.htm

Gay people (in particular) are being denied things like fertility treatments and Viagra--*after* the doctor has accepted their money, of course. Some pharmacists and doctors don't want to provide contraception to single people. Etc., etc. And medical professionals are asking for and getting "conscience clauses", and being sued, too.

Is this right? What do you think about this issue?

For those of you who need an afterlife/religion to be "moral"; what will make you keep your morals once the afterlife is reached?

If you don't need one; why do you assume that people need religion to be moral on earth?

The bible requires "guidance and understanding from the holy spirit" to interpret it correctly. People speak in tongues, but they must have someone else translate it for us.
Why does it seem that everything about god has to be interpreted for us?
Doesn't this raise any theists suspicions a little bit?

SICK??? I mean, regarding the homophobia/whatever thing....the mentality of "I'm not going to like you because of how you have sex" thing even though you'll never see me doing it (I hope) but basing a judgement upon your imagination is WARPED. "Oh, I can be your friend, Helen, you only screw guys so what if its a new guy every week, thats normal."

"Oh, I hate you Rodney, you're morally wrong because you sleep exclusively with Henry and thats a sin."

Know what I mean?

I mean... aren't most folks who go there... erm..... dead?
Living people aren't supposed to be there, are they?

And if they're not dead (i.e. eternal life and all that).... then how was Jesus coming back supposed to be representative of his divinity? I mean it is hardly a sign of the divine if everyone can do it!

Thinking about drama shows like 'ghost whisperer', 'medium', 'supernatural' and 'Empathy', rather than the overt liar shows like '6ixth sense or 'most haunted'

by making these sorts of interesting drama shows, which show 'psychics' in a good light, is TV making it easier for people to believe in this sort of nonsense?

or, are there just more gullible people about, who think that these dramas have a basis in reality?

or do people approach these the same way that they view vampire films, or Dr Who?
