Christianity is a variation on sun worship, and most of the stories in the bible are built around astrological symbolism

Is it true?

The Secret is all about worshiping yourself and you do rituals to achive your wishes which moslty have to do with money, image and sex.

So is "The Secret" kind of what Satan told eve?

Or is the Bible the one that is holding humanity back from reaching new levels of consciousness?

Wow!!!! Im so confused!!!!

I'm just flabbergasted. Are they still living in the dark ages? Are they going to start holding exorcisms, drilling holes in people's heads to 'let the demons out' and burning witches? I'm amazed that in the year 2007 there can still be such ignorance and backward thinking.

If you do NOT believe in God, then may I ask, (politely) why you are always 'dissing' the people that do?? You have your opinion, and we KNOW how the book ends, so are you doing this cause you really ARE interested in learning about God, or are you just trying to make the Believers mad? Cause your remarks don't make me mad, they just make you look foolish. If you don't change your ways and ask God into your life....you'll remember every single question you nastily answered while you are in hell...and it will not be funny whatsoever. You will be tormented forever.

God loves you and He wants you to come to Him right now. He doesn't care what you or your life has been like. He'll take you just as you are!!! He's at the door of your heart, just waiting for you to invite Him in. He won't barge in...He'll wait for you to ask Him in. He'll transform your life. He'll fill the void that's been in your heart that perhaps you've been trying to fill with other things. HE LOVES YOU!!

Lucy - (Australopithecus afarensis)
"...nearly all experts now agree that Lucy was just the skeleton of a 3-foot-tall chimpanzee"

Nebraska man
"...they created an entire skeleton with arms, legs, feet, hands, even facial features when all they really had was one tooth which, later, was found to be the tooth of an extinct pig."

Piltdown man
"...the jawbone turned out to belong to a modern ape."

Neanderthal man - (Homo sapiens neanderthalensis)
"famous skeleton, found in France over 50 years ago, was that of an old man who suffered from arthritis."

Firstly, this isn't a dig before anyone starts baiting me, I don't understand.

I asked a question last week about Jesus being Jewish, a few answers said that Christians and Jews follow the same god but Christians believe Jesus was the prophesised Messiah, wheras Jews do not.

Now, some people stated that Jesus DIDN'T do the things that were prophesised, therefore he wasn't the Messiah.

So who is right? Did he meet the criteria or didn't he?

If he DID, then why do Jews say he didn't?
If he DIDN'T, then why do Chrisitians say he did?

Again, not a dig, I just don't understand how he can and cannot fulfil the prophesies.

If this is the case, please tell me what do you think the Scripture at Hebrews 1:5, 6..where is says, For to which of the angels did God ever say, "You are my son; today I have become your father? Or again, " I will be his Father, and he will be my Son? (6) And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says.."Let all God's angels worship him.
Then again in verse (13) it says..To which of the angels did God ever say, " Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.?

I am confused about your beliefs.

Well, my final question of the day.

If you don't believe it then you don't have enough faith?

Isn't faith simply believing in God?

This is but one site I've found on the subject:

I'm going through something a little stressful and it's getting down to the nitty gritty. When I start to worry about it, I keep giving it to God, but I'm having trouble letting go.
I know He is taking care of it-but why am I having trouble shaking this one?

Because European TV displays "more" than American TV, and European beaches are more likely to have "exposed" people.
I'm asking this question neutrally -- I am not criticizing or debating what is correct , I'm just curious as to how the relaxed attitude towards exposure originated in Europe.

I got fired this morning during my bible study. In order to really study the bible you have to study secular history too. You'd be suprised what you find.

Looks like to me we need to shed off the questionable doctrine of men and get back to the pure and simple truth of the message.

Jesus didn't teach weird complex ideas. He taught simple truth.

When men try to explain their ideas do you get strange doctrines. Pride caused us to have the same doctrines for almost 2000 years. Too much pride to admit that perhaps we're wrong with some of our doctrine.

Why hold on to that?

Is it time to have a revolution? Shake up the house? Get back to the basics? Get back to truth? Isn't it overdue?

Jesus did a long time ago.

The names might not be able to be translated directly, but even if someone can translate a Spanish name as close to the English names as possible, this is for a Mexican project I am doing with the kids, I am also making up a play passport and entering all the names for them in the different languages as we are studying different parts of the world.
Here are the English names:
Connor (boy)
Ethan (boy)
Evann (girl)
Griffin (boy)
Kaitlyn (girl)
Mackenzie (girl)

Thank you for your help.

I've found that to be especially true on here where people don't know you. I've made a new rule for myself. When I think someone is being rude with their Q or A I will go back into their other Q's and A's and see if they tended to have other rude Q's and A's. If not I will presume they didn't intend it that way.
