I'm going through something a little stressful and it's getting down to the nitty gritty. When I start to worry about it, I keep giving it to God, but I'm having trouble letting go.
I know He is taking care of it-but why am I having trouble shaking this one?

WIsh we had a little more detail to better answer the question...

But the first thing I thought of after a moment of prayer is that perhaps it is because you have not yet "prayed through" the issue. Remember that prayer is not just you talking to God, but also listening for his answer back. It may be coming back to your mind because He has not yet been able to tell you all of the answer.

My pastor often says we try to get thousand dollar miracles on a dime's worth of prayer.

Next time it comes back to mind, just begin to thank him for the answer, because it is on the way.

Some people have said that you might not have enough trust in God, and that's one possibility. But it's also true that often times a problem we face can't just be ignored because we've given it to God. Frequently, we have to pay at least enough attention to see the opportunities when He provides them. The hard part is being open to an answer but not letting it take over your life. I don't know your particular situation so I don't know if this is one of those times.
When you start to worry about it again, give it to God again. Offer it up as a sacrifice to God. If you still can't let go, offer up your worry as well. Your worry may also be a cross you have to bear until the situation is resolved. If so, thank God for your suffering because Christ calls us to take up our crosses and follow Him. If we must bear a cross to follow Jesus, and God gives us a cross, what response could there be other than gratitude?
While you're thanking God for what you're going through, count all the other blessings He has given you as well. It's very hard to worry while you are giving thanks, especially while giving thanks to God.

+Peace be with you+

Bless You... you have entered into one of the greatest struggles we as Christians must face. It is the battle for control of our mind. We willingly desire to give everything to God... and the enemy sets about to henpeck us with his little diatribes and doubts. The Holy Spirit in you has all authority to tell the enemy to "step off". Keep disciplining yourself to say this and reminding yourself that you have already given it up. It may be beneficial to compare how good you are at handling things with how magnificent God is at handling things. Keep a note handy to see readily.

We are to remind ourselves regularly how competent God is and it is to no shame that we herald His name, that we hallow His name. He is worthy of it.

Make a selection of scripture from one of the Bible promise books for example and memorize them... keep a copy of those verses with you and when you are tempted to take back control... speak the verse to remind yourself of this covenant you have with the Faithful God.

(against Satan)
James 4:7 Ephesians 6:10-12
Revelation 12:11

(God's faithfulness)
2 Timothy 2:13,19 2 Peter 3:9
Psalm 89:1-2

There is so much more sing His praises when you are tempted and perservere in this matter. God is faithful and the worry which the enemy would like you to indulge in will be sent packing.

PS... when I started this I counted no less than 6 non-Christians answered.

Wonder why.

Adsversity comes into our lives from several sources, including God. We may or may not know why. Look at Job - the graetest man of the east - a man who feared God - an upright man. He did nothing to deserve the adversity that came - and had no idea why! Yet, he persevered, and even when his wife told him to curse God and die, he rebuked her and asked her how can we accept the blessing from the Lord and not the adversity, too?
Regardless, our place is put our faith in Christ for everything...unconditionally. Our faith must not depend upon His answer in our timeframe, or the way we want it answered. Letting go may take some time, or it might happen suddenly. One way to help let go, is to ever-increasingly get into His Word, and pray. Shift your focus from you to Him. When you want to please the Lord, you accept whatever He has for you...and you are at peace. You also have joy, for you will have chosen to follow the Lord's leading.

It is natural to be stressed. God will see you through, but that does not necessarily mean it will be easy. Talk to someone about it. It can be a friend, your pastor, or even a professional therapist. God often resolves your problems in more practical ways than you imagine. People are put here to help you. Seek them out! Good luck!

I have to say that i completely understand where you are coming from. It is hard to put faith into the unseen. There is a scripture that helps me in my times of stress....
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer ans petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your mind in Christ Jesus...." -Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
If you feel comfortable, and you want to talk more, please know that I am always here to listen. By the way, my name is Michele.

That's the voice of the enemy whispering to you. I think it happens to the best of us sometimes. I do the same thing at times, thinking maybe God won't see me through this one because I haven't prayed enough or read the Bible enough or I've sinned a little too much this week. When you start having doubts and worries, you just have to keep taking those thoughts captive, confess your worry to Christ, and ask Him to stregthen your faith.
Good luck!

Perhaps you are having trouble shaking it because you want your own answers right now, and not God's answers in God's time. Take a deep breath and try to help with someone else's problem.

This sounds like a test coming from the tester (Satan). You may be tested at any time. As in the scripture, Satan (the tester) withdrew from Jesus until an opportune time, then he came back.

We all have weaknesses. Satan being more powerful, smarter and faster than we knows them and uses them to shake our faith. If he cannot shake our faith in God, he tries to shake our faith in ourselves.

It sounds like you are unhappy with yourself in not letting go of your test. Try praying to God that you are nothing but a little baby compared to Him. That you are completely helpless about this and desperately need Him to take care of it.

Then every time you remember your test, remember that you are nothing more than a little baby compared to the tester and God. That you are relying totally on God to take care of the test.

He knows how helpless we are. He will answer your call.

Also, if you will, remember to pray to St. Michael the Archangel to handle Satan. We cannot handle Satan ourselves. It is not our place and we are incompetent to do it.

Yours in Christ Jesus, Grace

I am going thru a stressful situation as well.
It is hard, but you need to disconnect from the world a little bit.
I don't mean meditation or Yoga.
Try to find Bible passages that relate to your dilemma and think on them, let God work on you thru them.
Go to www.Biblegateway.com in "keyword" search to easily find relevent passages. ALSO it is very important to pray for discerment - because some answers will come that will lead you astray.

I will pray for you.
