I believe its already begun. Its the people that question and study it, like you, that just may reveal its true, intended meaning, instead of the meaning that works best for the men who have misled so many people.

this is a tough place to start but well worth it ! there are more
Heretic's , Abomination , False teachers , Cults , Heterodoxy
Ignorance , Irresponsible , self righteous , self seeking ,Lost,
Blind , Children of the Devil people on this site than one could
imagine . Even people that call themselves christians but
reject the word of God & Jesus . Christians that do not stand
for Jesus because they want to be polite or are affraid that
they will be rejected if they stand with Jesus ,from this worldly
melting pot of a site . They don't like truth here to much because it expose's them and cramps their worldly life style
that does nothing more than support the evil fallen world that
they have helped make, which they Love & Hate so much but
are unwilling , lazy to do anything about it but , complain and blame everybody else, but their sorry self . There are some
real hardened hearts here who refuse to have an idea of their
own and a lot of lost and blind people who think they are CHRISTIANS who in the end will be saying Lord , Lord I am
yours and Jesus will say I NEVER KNEW YOU . Into hell they
will go . I'm with you brother but the bulk of my serving the Lord are all around me here an abroard , so shake the tree &
see what falls . May God strengthen you in truth and His Word
, Amen ... But in Hope there are some True Christians here as well , who are making a difference and not backing down
Just let the truth stand on its own nothing more , nothing less .
Remember God does the saving not us . We just bring forth
His Word and Truth and will open the eyes and ears of those
He calls . For many will go thru the wide and well traveled gate and few will pass into heaven . So sad , but true .....

I originally had a little bitter quip to make here.
You know what, man? I think you're right, I think Christianity really needs a period of critical self-evaluation. And honestly, I think that one of the first places you might begin to look outside of the Bible (because really, you have to look at models of christian community throughout time and to keep yourself from the trap of believing that your singular interpretation happens to be exactly what Jesus intended), might be that interpretation of the Gospel offered by the Anabaptists, particularly Menno Simons. I realize that they might seem a bit primitive to most, but they represent the only "in the world but not of it" people that I've ever respected. Having responded to Christ with faith, they went out to live the sermon on the mount in a world that persecuted them harshly for it, and stayed true to turning the other cheek.
Not that you have to do everything the way they do. I just think they're coherent and worth taking a look at.
All the best,
Lazarus

Do we need a new christian revolution? - I don't think so, nay
I got fired this morning during my bible study. - Now, what do you mean by this?? Got me confused. Were you teaching the Bible study or what? (shrug)
In order to really study the bible you have to study secular history too. You'd be suprised what you find. - heheheheh, that's a dangerous point.Good luck with your search though :-)

I really love your questions. lol You are such a seeker. Yes, you are right. Jesus taught simple basic truths that have been so complicated and mixed with false doctrines and traditions by religions it confuses even most Christians let alone onlookers. That is why I don't belong to a religion. I am a follower of Christ.

The revolution occurs within ourselves. The external result is to do the right thing. We need an outpouring of love for all people. This is the revolution. Wrath and judgment, and all the things that are typical of violent revolution, belong to God. We are exhorted to love as Christ loved us. What a revolution this will be.

No it is not. Using religion for revolt ion is the path to the dark side of society. This country will turn into a Theocracy if a Christian revolution was to take place

I call it a revival, like the one during the life of Jonathan Edwards, and we are in great need of it.
Similarly, I think we have lost the meaning, importance, and discipline of fasting. This is biblical and often intregral at the onset of trusting God for a revival.

Jesus got killed for it.
But yes, it is overdue, the organization of church is dead, we need to bury it and get on with the Church.
