Those of you who have been answering my questions tonight have been so generous, and I thank you for it.

I'm hearing that I should live for my son's memory. And it certainly has a lot of weight for me.

But here's the thing...

When I was ten my father died.

I've spent my whole life immersing myself in idealism and the best wisdom I could find to live up to -his- memory ...

... and to make up for all the wisdom I never had the chance to learn from him ...

... so that when I had children, I'd have the best I could give to give to them ...

... and now I have to live up to be my best for my son's memory, as well as my dad's.

I feel like George Bailey in It's a Wonderful Life. I've tried so hard, struggled so hard, and everything that mattered to me is gone.

After losing all I had, I'm to start over at 50?

Is it any wonder there are days when I do -not- want to get out of bed?

It seems that not one religion on this planet is the monopoly religion. I believe that there is a force of nature that prevents one religion from ruling the world. Christianity might have the upper edge but it is nowhere near a monopoly. Look at the statistics yourself.

theres a lot of controversy in Islam today. on one side you have wahabbiis that are saying that reading salaam on the rasool is shirk. on the other side you have the sufis who say that God forgives all sins even shirk and reading salaam on the rasool is not shirk at all. it jsut seems really hard to decide what to do. everyone is obviously acting out of good will (noone wants to go to jahanam). what exactly is shirk and what is the correct way to follow islam that is "safe". i try a lot to avoid major sins like shirk, and im terrified if i accidentally do it or something. what is the deal>?

SINCERE ANSWERS ONLY FROM MUSLIMS ONLY. DON'T WANNA CONVERT OR ANYTHING, JUST WANNA BE A MOMIN.

I am a black women married to a white man and we have two beautiful children. Recently I was asked what my children were. I told them they are both black and white. I was then told that they are what their father is and that is the way society will see them. I don't see it this way because if that was the case, my husbands grandparents will not have refused them so much. So, where does that leave me? Am I to tell my children they are considered white and leave it at that? Or am I to deprive them of their african american culture all together? My husband doesn't think of these things he hides from them in hope that the stares and fingers pointing will just go away. I do not want my children to be treated any different than any other child. It is not fair, I am not naive I know life is not fair but we are all human beings aren't we?

He thinks anyone with long hair must be a hippie and smell funny.
He thought I was gay because I wasn't married by the time I was 21. (the time when one would normally return from a mission)
Anyone who drinks alcohol is an alcoholic.
Anyone who listens to rock music is evil.
The list goes on, but I think you get the point.

For example, the Earl of Southesk (England) is noted as marrying for a second time and has an issue.
Is that an illigitimate child? The artical also says he has three sons but they could be from his first wife and there be noted..... I guess.

Even in light of the fact it hasn't warmed since the 1990s and the Antarctic and Greenland ice shelf are growing.

Bums are dangerous. The homeless are mostly druggies and alcoholics...mentally ill are usually obvious...........

dont mess with them, its a no win situation

I feel badly for bums as I would for any human, but..................99 times out of a hundred........if you give them money, it will go for booze or drugs or cigarettes...

lots of places give free meals to the homeless...........

say no to bums and bumettes

although I must say the most entertaining bum I met was an older black gentleman and had an old patched up accordian and he painstaking squeezed out a tune that was really hard to figure out....but once you did, it was marvelous .........

took him 6 minutes to find the right (or similiar) notes, and the wheezing of the leaky bellows was also a charm. life for him glowed that day.........just because..........I laid a 20 on him out of respect....he was tring to EARN his booze money...........by the way it was the theme song for Flintstones....

If you are walking along in the a jungle and saw a building sitting there, how would you know there was a builder? You can't see him, smell him, touch him or taste him. However by knowing that the building has design, you can know there was a designer.

Would you believe me if I told you that over millions of years glass slowly crept up from the dirt and into a frame? And then all of the other pieces, including the windshield wipers, a gear shift, pedals, an engine, and a steering wheel, morphed and created a perfect working car? Would you call me a sane person for telling you that?

So why then do you all who deny the existence of God refuse to believe that all of creation (the sun to keep us warm, the plants to provide us fruit, the human digestive tract, the human eye, the layers of the atmosphere, the hydrologic cycle, dna to hold information, and on and on) was intelligently designed as well. That's just as illogical as claiming that the vehicle made itself.

1)i'm an evolutionist, doubt all you want, i am

That question above was a really inteligent one! Still the fundamentalist wing amongst the evolutionist just couldn't let it pass now could they? No its criticising their "faith" (and if you don't want people saying you have faith in evolution, stop acting like you do). There was a lot of unnecesary offenses. Now i ask did anyone amongst the ones who offended knew the awnser to the question?

I am not bashing gays. However if we grants marrige rights to gays, then the activist groups for people who have sex with animals will want the same rights. People who want to marry their mother, or sister, will want the same rights. People who want to marry toddlers and babies will want the same rights. People who want to marry hundreds of other people will want the same rights. People who want to marry dog shitt will want the same rights. People who want to marry insects will want the same rights. People who want to marry dead corpses will want the same rights. And thus Pandora's box is flung wide open to all kinds of freaky things.

Hello, I am a lesbian women in a relationship. Me and my partner have been together for years upon years. And we have a few pets. We have always referred to our pets as our children and loved them very much. Our beautiful golden retriever has died but thank God, the poor thing did not suffer. Anyhow, we our both very heartbroken at the loss of our baby. My girlfriend is very upset and is running wild with a horrible idea. Her uncle is a taxidermist and she has taken the dog to be stuffed. She wants to "keep her forever". This really bothers me for obvious reasons, it's really creepy. Now, she is so grief stricken but so am I and she has already dropped the dog's body off. How can I ever so gently talk her out of it?

Just because someone leaves the church doesnt mean they are holding a grudge and want the church to die, etc etc. Maybe it just wasnt for them. I am an ex-mormon and i can honestly say i have respect for them as people, i just dont agree with them on some religious points, that's all. So does that mean that every single word that comes out of my mouth that can possibly be related to mormonism is a complete lie? Of course not! Honestly, i am completely truthful about the mormon religion, and i'm not low enough to just go around telling lies to try keep people from converting or whatever.

What i'm trying to say is that just because it wasnt for them, doesnt mean that ex-mormons are liars about the church, and they can still be credible in most situations.

PS I'm not denying that there are SOME people like that, but people automatically think that about ALL ex-mormons. Most of them are completely honest.
