In "God Bless the USA" he sings, "I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free, and I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me, and I'll proudly stand up next to you and defend her still today."
If he's never fought, he can't stand up next to them because he isn't fighting with them. Isn't he really standing behind them then? Like a coward perhaps?

First of all, I'm ELCA Lutheran, so yes, female pastors are allowed. I'm not asking your opinion on female pastors.

Moving on, how to I tell my parents about this calling? Other people I am close to know, and are supportive. I have a friend or two who has laughed at me and told me I'm wasting my life, but that's beside the point. I can deal with them. But how do I tell my parents? It seems like they expect me to go into business or law or something like that... But that's not where I see myself. Any advice, please?

Some have said that education will stop terrorism, yet the recent terrorists in Britain are highly educated successfull doctors. These terrorists are highly educated in what the Quran teaches to kill the infidels and to establish Sharia law in the world. It seems the only education that will work against these terrorists is for us to appease them by submitting to their desires. Is this what those who claim education is the answer are saying or is there another way of ending terrorism through education?

I am looking up Chinese symbols for my daughter for a project she is doing for school, I am trying to find peace, it comes up with two symbols together and says it means peace but then I have found another site that talks about a woman being in a house means peace. I want peace as in calm, harmony, etc. I don't know if anyone can answer this question without a visual but please help if you know what I am talking about Thanks!

There is such a beautiful and metaphorical poetry to the bible, yet some feel uncomfortable about this. Does this rainbow of possibilities challenge their point? And does this limit our spirituality.

Accordint to the bible in John 3:16 "For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life"

he was already a son of God (not the only one but the first) that God has in heaven.
