In "God Bless the USA" he sings, "I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free, and I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me, and I'll proudly stand up next to you and defend her still today."
If he's never fought, he can't stand up next to them because he isn't fighting with them. Isn't he really standing behind them then? Like a coward perhaps?

First of all, he's 65.
Second, He's done enough USO tours to be equivalent to at least two tours in Iraq. I admire anyone who puts his time and money where his mouth is.
