I am married, and have monogamous sexual relations with my wife, and with only my wife, so I do not need condoms. But the pope does not influence me one way or the other in any area of my life for any reason. I am not catholic, nor do I care about what the pope has to say about anything. Thanks for asking. God bless.

No. The Pope has little to do with my decisions, and therefore I'm not a Catholic. My husband and I do not want to have more children than we can afford, and natural family planning is not a good option for me personally. I do agree with him about opposing the death penalty, though.
Edit: Many of the Catholics I know if real life use condoms, too.

ALL Protestant denominations considered artificial contraception a sin up until the Anglican Lambeth Conference of 1930. At that conference, the Anglican Communion decided that artificial contraception was no longer a sin and the rest of mainstream Protestantism followed suit.

Meg, you are a brave soul my friend.
I am Catholic. I can tell you though that I know Protestants who while they may not follow the Pope, they do value His opinion on some issues and have great respect and admiration for him. Some of them actually have made changes in their lives based on this.
I know two in particular who studied the Roman Catholic Church's teaching on contraception, and stopped using it, even though they aren't Catholic. The teaching makes perfect and beautiful sense if people would just be willing to take the time to study and understand.

when i was protestant , I didnt allways follow the pope. as a catholic i dont always follow the pope, but I respect the pope and above all respect his reasoning. The church's mission is to preach and teach truth. Individual followers must always seek truth in their lives if they love god and wish to do his will.
One must also understand when a pope teaches based on his own reasoning informed by faith and whether he teaches "from the chair of peter" or "ex cathedra" . the latter is rarely done yet it forwards a teaching from the time of the apostles that perhaps recently has caused scandal and has made it necessary for the pope to issue a dogma.
I also follow what the dalai lama teaches as long as it comports with the teachings of christ as laid out by the church. I reject all muslim teachings on morality, and i reject the teachings of many protestant leaders and scholars by virtue of the fact that authority,"the keys to heaven and earth" had been vested by Christ on Peter and the apostles, whose lineage descends to the present day pope and patriarches of various orthodox churches.
God will judge me on my conscious sins and I pray he will forgive my unconscious ones.

Thank God that life itself nor the Bible itself is not base on what mama thinks!
Besides, in spite of poplar belief, the catholic church cares nothing about the unborn. Part of the reason Spain had a civil war during the 1930's was because of mama killing the unborn. Too bad the history books don't teach these facts! Why don't they, you ask? Because mama has a lot of control over world governments and people. Even today, the catholic church has complete control over Spain and Italy.

That is sort of a strange question, I mean if I'm not catholic, then the pope doesn't really mean beans to me.
