July 4,1776, the United States declared its independence from the UK and started a new government.People of noble ancestry had to earn the right to rule by winning elections like everyone else.
There are many people in the United States who can claim royal and noble ancestry. But there is a difference between politics and royalty here. A political office still must be won and has nothing to do with ancestry.

The United States is a democracy, democracies don't have Royalty, we are all equal, because in a democracy we choose the people who run this country, a Queen/King(monarchy) has the Divine Right, they were 'chosen' by 'God', the people have no decision. But today the Royal Family holds no real power.

Because we have a separation of church and state. The Queen is a social/national(almost religious but we're talking the Church of England here) figure head while the PM is the political head. Our President fulfills both roles (minus the church). That's why we get defensive when it is attacked whether we voted for it or not(I voted against the bush). Basically take the PM and the Queen, put them in a blender and you have the Bush (hee hee!).

Because Article I, Section 9 of the United States Constitution provides, in part, as follows:
"No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept any present Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State."

The free people of the United States decided that they preferred a democratic republic to a monarchy - which is a rulership by a family by inheritance. We freely elect our chosen officials to represent the people.

Because we declared ourselves a democrocy. When England and the US were at war England just had a monarchy. Now they have a democratic monarchy (somthing like that I can't remember right now) which has more influence by the prime minister then the Queen.

The Founding Fathers believed that it was better to have a representative republic than a monarchy. Having had to deal with corrupt leaders in another country, our founding fathers laid everything on the line and started the revolution.

Because Royalty did not get out & fight to settle our country, like British royalty did!
Besides, back then,America was settled to get away from absolute rule & be able to have our own opinions & lifestyles, within christianity of course. Not all these other weird cults & religions that have sprang from hell in the past few yrs!
