I think most Muslims do not speak out against terrorism because they support terrorism. The minority of Muslims who oppose terrorism does not speak out because of fear.

Yes, i am agree that most of the Muslims do not speak out against terrorism, because they believe in fundamentalism or having bigotry type nature. There is no fault in their religion, but what they learn specially in their surroundings and in their madrases (School only for Muslims) plays a significant role in their brain wash.

There could be several reasons.
1. No tv exposure.
2. No central (and well known in the west) religious leader in Islam speaking out against it.
3. Suspicion - when such atrocities occur, it's natural for people to become more cautious and/or suspicious.
4. Many Americans feel that America is currently, for all intents and purposes, at war with Islam...or at least an interpretation of it...and people don't know where to draw the line.
There are probably a few more reasons, but those are the first few that occur to me.

Fear. They fear retribution from the terrorists. Oh it is high time for all you peace loving Muslims to speak out against this murderous faction of your religion. Your silence is almost like a rubber stamp of approval. A recent poll shows that 25% of young Muslims in the US think that suicide bombings of innocent civilians is acceptable under some conditions. This number is frightening. If Islam is a religion of peace, and the majority of Muslims want peace, they should do something about it. These radicals are giving all Muslims a bad name. Speak out and fear not.

Stereotyping again? "Most Muslims" try to live at peace with everyone - the radical fringes strike fear into everyone they can. The fact that most Muslims live in Muslim communities and/or countries and they are not allowed to speak out might have just a bit to do with it. And why would the news bother covering Muslims speaking out against terrorism - that doesn't sell advertising - terrorism and scaring the daylights out of whoever they can does sell.
No, I'm not Muslim, I'm Christian - but stereotyping is unfair - no matter who is being typecast.
Hate is not the answer - no matter what city, town, or country you live in; neither is blaming the victims (have you seen what the terrorists are doing to their brothers and sisters?)
My personal opinion.

I am, as a Muslim, I never believe that there is a terrorism in the name of Islam
that's why I am confused what should I do
(Some stupid people said it's a terrorism when they see a crime that did by Muslim. we need to define what is terrorism before we talk about it)

They are afraid of being seen as a traitor and not only would their life be in danger but their family lives as well............ And since they also like to making examples of how they deal with traitors... You can count on everyone of you family members being butchered................ Can you with all your imagination believe that you could stand there and just watch your wife and children being raped and butchered while you watch...... You too would be afraid to speak out....
