The best told lies are slight variations on the truth. The Pagan "religions" are very good lies. The Liar was even capable of projecting them into human history in what appears to be before Jesus Christ was in the world.

Some of the extensive lies are the reincarnation, seasonal rebirth, and even sacraficial stories and behavior. None of them come close to the Truth. The closest mankind, under the influence of Satan, has been able to copy the Truth is by sacrificing its own children (something that was never even in God's mind). None of Paganism shows the mercy and love of God. He sacrificed His own Son.

The illusion that these religions came "before" Christianity is a point of confusion for some who are already confused by engaging in the occult. Christ is I AM. These other religions did not exist until creation. Christ is the Word of creation, He created the world. Satan didn't project the Pagan religions into the world before the Fall.

Yours in Christ Jesus, Grace

You know, during the 60s and 70s? Hippie movement was at full swing. Yellow Smiley faces were everywhere you looked. Life was much more simple and laid back. America was muc more intelligent. We had great music (not pre-recorded pop techno). Ah, don't you miss it?

My gf and i have been together for 14 months, and at the moment things are amazing. we're both 24 and we've realised that in 5 years time we want very different things - she wants a family, I want to travel and have a career.

She's finished with her travelling and I'm only just beginning so this is something we can't seem to find common ground on. Also i am happy to have a family, but not for another 8-10 years.

What should i do? she seems to think we're doomed and that we should probably end it now and just be friends, but I dont know if i can give up the person I love the most in case things dont work out in 5 years.

I dont want to be selfish and keep her from doing what will make her happy.

Has anyone been in this situation before???

It seems to me that it is pretty much pointless for atheists and theists to debate about religion because they aren't thinking on the same plane. Atheists demand facts and theists rely on faith, a concept that means nothing to atheists. The conversation just ends up going in circles and everyone ends up pissed off. So what's the point?

My grandmother passed away and I was absolutely appalled when my aunt pulled out her camera and told her kids to pose at the casket. How much more distasteful does it get than that? Am I overreacting or is that appalling to you too?

An answer to a previous question brought this to my attention.

He was born of a virgin, started preaching at 30, walked on water, got strung up on a tree between two robbers in atonement of sins, was ressurected, and there's many more similarities.

Just coincidence?

Have a look at this link for a comparision, along with other gods that seem to have a few things in common with Jesus.

Combining this with the lack of evidence for the existence of Jesus, why do so many christians fall for the story?

Or should christians switch their allegience to Horus?

Many book publishers will not even consider printing the book you've written if you used the King James Version.

What do you think it would be like? What kind of rules would it include? What do you think would be important to make clear *now*?

How do you think it would be presented to the people of the world? In one language? Many languages? One format? Or many different formats to fit the many different cultures of the world? Do you think the ideas presented for each different culture would be the same? Or would they be written to fit to each culture?

Would it be presented as a divinely inspired book that was written by people? Or, as some kind of a miracle that just showed up on everyone's doorstep all at once?

Hardcover book? Paperback? E-book?

The holy books that currently exist in the world are all hopelessly outdated, written for cultures and peoples that no longer exist, who lived in physical surroundings and conditions that have long since been changed through modernization and science. You'd think that God would want to update his message so that we could use it now.

This is for those that believe in the afterlife, of course.

Seeing as after you die, you lose your brain and I would suppose it's functionality. Your memories, experiences, what you've learned, etc. would cease to exist without the mind being able to process cognitive information. So after death, do you expect you, or your soul (the form of you after death) to keep the memories? Or do you expect a clean slate of memory, almost as if you were reborn?

Another question along the lines of the brain and it's functionality (this is slightly more for the Christians), would a person with Alzheimer's, who used to be a devout Christian still receive access to heaven, even though they no longer really believe/actively participate in the religion? I ask because when some people with Alzheimer's lose their memory, their religious beliefs can be lost as well.
