I do not believe that Bill Cosby is trying to bring anybody down, but rather to RAISE the level of parenting in our society. We have already seen the results when parents abdicate their role to public schools and Bill Cosby is trying to raise awareness to the need to improve our society, not tear any more of it down.

I commend Bill Cosby for his efforts, and his comments apply to all races.

If anything, Mr. Cosby is airing the dirty laundry that many in the black community would rather stuff under the bed! His commentary is true, and truth, my friend, will at times seem to be condescending.

I think you have it wrong. I think he wants to see his race rise above stereotypes and live with dignity. He points out the problems with the music and values and things that reflect badly on blacks, like violent/offensive lyrics etc. in order to show that this is holding back progress for the black race.

My perspective is that he is trying to build brother up! He wants people, especially men, of his race to take responsibility for their actions, ie fathering children, so that they can erase some of the stereotypes that exist, and live a happy, more valuable life.

i dont think he's trying to "bring a brotha down", i think he is trying to inspire those "brotha's" that have no ambition and a low will to better themselves.
