The Bible doesn't say anything directly about donating organs since such a practice was not in existence at the time the Bible was written. That doesn't mean that there are not guiding principles to be gleaned from the text however.
First of all, donating an organ to help someone else is a noble sacrifice if you are still alive and is a thoughtful gesture that leaves a legacy of concern for others if it is done because a person let it be known that if they died in an accident or something like that, they wanted to still help others even though they were no longer here to do so in person.
The idea that there is some prohibition against donating blood or organs is a mis-interpretation of passages where people are told not to eat the blood of an animal because it is the life of the animal given by God. A person has to go beyond the bounds of what the text actually says to come up with a doctrine prohibiting blood or organ donation.

I don't know if my religion says anything about it, but I am totally for it. I have reminded my family for years that if it's possible I want any organ they can make use of donated. My belief is that my spirit leaves my body instantly upon death so all that is left is my outer shell as my spirit and soul is who a I am, not my body. My son didnt want to donate his organs, but the more I talked about donating mine and wanting to donate his because it would leave me with a sense of him still being in the world and helping with the most precious of gifts, he has finally decided to do it to. I made my decision in high school cuz a very popular boy who had once been my sister's bf died in a car crash and the yearbook had a special layout talking about what organs were donated to help others. I knew then I wanted to do that.

I wish someone would donate an organ for me. My old Hammond fried last week and I need a new organ, or at least a replacement. I am not religious but what in the world would a religion have to do with an organ? Unless of course they needed it for Sunday services.

I am 100% behind organ donation. I am not what one would consider "religious" but I think at this point most religions are supporting it. ( I believe that Catholic doesn't but can't think of another in particular.)
My mother's organs were donated a few years ago and we received letters from some of the people that they helped and it's amazing for someone else to live longer/better/happier/easier because of something like that. Those organs are useless once you are gone - give em up!

Organ donation is a good thing. I don't think any religion has anything specific against it, as organ donation is a new science. Everything depends on how you were to interpret your religious ideals.
Personally, I think organ 'donation' is like charity and helping your neighbor, which is supposedly good in most religions!

I actually have never bothered to find out what ANY religion says about it simply because I will continue to believe in organ donation no matter what, even if I become devout in some faith someday. It saves lives, with minimal (only aesthetic, and who cares? you're dead!) effects to the donor. I would even be a living donor if someone close to me required a kidney or something.

Yes I believe in Organ donation. I am not very religous and I don't think anybody has the right to judge you for anything you do it's nobody's business but your own and they really cannot say anything when it comes to helping someone else live a better life

I'm an organ donor, if that's what you mean by the question. I won't be doing anything with the organs anyway.
No religion (atheist)

im a muslim, and in islam -not the one in the media:D- God loves the people who search for science(includin bio) because they are the ones who know how hard it is,..we have discovered things in our universe which took us millions of years and still we didnt uncover everything..these things God cr8ed in only 6 dayz! how marvelouse! so sometimes organ donation is the only way for science 2 make another person survive..at least its seems so at the moment..and if the organ doner dies of something like that in order 2 help someone he goes to the highest level of heaven
